Witches Brew 🧙‍♀️

We had a lovely time at the Family Garden Halloween/autumn celebration today. I think this was Mr. B’s favourite activity… making potions.

Thank you Sophie for a lovely day. # # #

Pumpkin finger prints 🎃🎃🎃

Throwback from last year….

Using orange poster paint, a green and black pen we created a very cute pumpkin decoration.

Thank you .bear.went.to.play for this idea.

Older toddlers and children will definitely love this activity , Bodhi (17 months) managed around three prints with support and then wanted to explore the paint... a joint effort as I finished it off and decorated it.

🎃Hook a pumpkin ring 🎃

Happy pumpkin season! I’ve seen some great ideas in which you can use your pumpkins…

Here is an activity we did last year….

Bodhi really loved the hammer tap pumpkin, so today we adapted it using rings. He enjoyed placing them on the rings and taking them off again. Great for little fingers!

For this activity we used:
🎃 bamboo golf tees
🎃 diy wooden rings (stained with tiny land wood stains)
🎃 wooden hammer

Afterwards I used the pumpkin to make soup 🍜

Rings we stained using wood stains that are safe for the environment and food grade. Enter EDP10 for 10% off

I can’t find the account that inspired me for this activity... apologies please say if it was you as I commented on your idea!

Scoop, scoop stir! 🎃

It’s a lovely time of year, today we have been collecting leaves and scooping out our pumpkin

Spooky spaghetti

A flash back from last year:

I dropped a few drops of wood stain

Top tip….. put a tablespoon of oil (vegetable or rapeseed) to stop the spaghetti from sticking. Can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days

The spaghetti was dyed using stains which are safe for little fingers. You can receive 10% off using the code EDP10

Im loving all the Halloween play ideas! What have you been up to today?

Spider peg pull 🕷

Another classic from last year (when I seemed to have a little more time)

This is a lovely easy fine motor activity that can be adapted for older children.

Pegs are always a favourite in our house, easy to use and easily available.

I placed the pegs on the black circles for Bodhi to pull off. Older toddlers/children could place the pegs on/counting legs as they go.

Mr pumpkin head

This was a classic from last year (when I seemed to have more time)

Bodhi loved taking his eyes out and trying to pop them back in... a little harder than mr potato head. We are going to be using this pumpkin later for another activity and then finally trying to cook with it (trying haha)
Any suggestions welcomed!

Pumpkin rescue 🎃
A little activity we did last year…

Great for developing strength in little fingers! Simply pumpkins and elastic bands.

This activity requires supervision

Before making pumpkin soup I thought it would be fun to make a puzzle for Bodhi.
