The Guardian University Guide 2025 – the rankings 11/09/2024

It's great to see that our engineering programmes keep their high positions in the latest university rankings published recently by The Guardian:
Civil Engineering: 20th place.
Electric & Electronic Engineering: 19th place.
General Engineering: 9th place.
Mechanical Engineering: 9th place.
Our General Engineering programmes are now in top 10 in all three major UK league table rankings.

Our colleague Prof David Butler FREng, co-director of the Centre for Water Systems, chaired the working group which delivered the Royal Academy of Engineering pivotal new report which outlines key priorities for mitigating human health risks from polluted water: 'Priorities for mitigating health risks from wastewater pollution'

Testing the waters report: reducing health risks from water pollution 15 recommendations on reducing health risks from water pollution and sewage contamination from the National Engineering Policy Centre.

Few years ago, we have embarked on an ambitious journey to embed innovation and entrepreneurialism in our engineering curricula. In this journey we have also developed one of the most innovative engineering programmes in the UK - Engineering & Entrepreneurship BEng/MEng. All this was made possible by the generous support ou our alumnus Adam Boyden.
Today Eleanor Griffin - one of our brilliant students enrolled in this programme, has received The Mercia Award from The Worshipful Company of Engineers for her innovation in surgical technology

University of Exeter Engineering team led by Dr Martino Luis is working with Universitas Syiah Kuala Kuala Indonesia to improve gender equality in STEM in a project funded by British Council. The project's outcomes will closely relate to five SDGs goals - good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and reduced inequalities
