BUILDING PROGRESS UPDATE!

What an exciting couple of days it’s been watching our brand-new modular classroom being installed! A specialist construction team has been hard at work carefully manoeuvring the five sections into place, with the help of an incredible 80ft crane weighing around 60 tonnes! Quite a sight to see! 🏗️

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the installation run so smoothly. It’s wonderful to see this next stage of Rockbeare’s growth becoming a reality.

The new classroom is expected to be ready for use from 22nd October – we can’t wait to see our children learning and thriving in their fantastic new space. We'll be sure to offer tours of the building to children before this date so that they can see it develop.

We are very excited to have our new classroom's arriving tomorrow. This will involve a crane and 5 large truck/trailers. We really appreciate all the positive comments from the village supporting our growth and hope the truck's don't cause too much inconvenience tomorrow.

🎨 ART Week has begun at Rockbeare! 🎨

Our classrooms have been full of creativity as the children kicked off Art Week yesterday. They are exploring a range of artistic techniques, experimenting with different media and creating both individual masterpieces and collaborative pieces that celebrate teamwork and imagination.

We can't wait to share their wonderful work with you!

🖼️ Weather permitting, we'll be holding a mini art exhibition in the playground at pick-up on Wednesday 8th July, where families will have the opportunity to admire the children's fantastic creations.

WE'RE OPEN!

Just to reassure our families, Rockbeare School is open until 1:30pm today and open as normal tomorrow, as communicated directly by the school. When it comes to school updates, our emails and messages are always the best place to check first.

SPORTS DAY! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for coming together to enjoy Sports Day!

The day got off to a fantastic start with our EYFS children, who, led by example, took part enthusiastically in all of their activities and demonstrated our school values beautifully.

The afternoon brought even more excitement (and certainly more volume!) as children proudly cheered on their Houses. It was great to see agility and speed put to the test on our new curvy track, and what a brilliant way to finish the day with the ever-popular House tug of war and parents' race.

A special thank you to the FRSA for providing refreshments, a delicious BBQ, a bouncy castle and a raffle packed with exciting prizes. Your support helped make the day such a success.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Village Hall Council for supporting us in reducing parking pressure in the village by kindly offering parking on the Village Green. This generous gesture made a real difference to the smooth running of the event and was greatly appreciated.

Well done to all of our children for their determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of you all!

JUST A THURSDAY IN JUNE!

It's been another busy and positive day at Rockbeare!

This morning we welcomed several visitors to school, including our School Improvement Officer. The visit focused on behaviour and SEND provision, and we're proud to share that the positive behaviour of our children was recognised throughout the visit. It was also pleasing to hear that learning behaviours continue to strengthen, reflecting the focused work staff and pupils have put into our Behaviour Curriculum this year.

Meanwhile, our Year 6 pupils brought their Enterprise Project to life! Since completing their SATs, they have been busy brainstorming ideas, conducting research, managing budgets, adapting plans, creating advertisements, and working collaboratively as teams. Today, all of that hard work came together as they delivered a range of fun and engaging activities for the rest of the school to enjoy, whilst raising funds for their Leavers' Hoodies and a few special treats!

Well done, Year 6! Thank you for your enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork – the activities were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved and showcased so many valuable life skills.
