WATER SAFETY
A big thank you to the RNLI for their recent visit to our school.
The team shared important messages about beach and water safety as we begin the summer term. The session had a really positive impact on the children, helping them to understand how to stay safe while enjoying time by the sea.
We are so grateful for the engaging and informative way these vital messages were delivered.
For more information and helpful safety advice for families, please visit the RNLI website.

🐣🌷Happy Easter from everyone at Rockbeare CofE School🌷
Wishing all of our families a joyful and restful Easter. As a gentle reminder of the season, we reflect on the words: “Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Maundy Thursday for our end-of-term Easter parade - it was wonderful to see so many of you there. The effort and creativity that went into the amazing hats and bonnets were truly fantastic!
We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 20th April.
Have a lovely break! 💛

SCIENCE AT ROCKBEARE:
It’s been a fantastic term of Science across the school, with children showing great curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm in their learning.
We were especially excited to take part in National Science and Engineering Week in March. Our EYFS and Key Stage 1 children had a brilliant time celebrating through hands-on experiments and exploring the world around them. From investigating how things grow to learning through play 🧪🌍, the children have been busy asking questions, making predictions and discovering new ideas. We are so proud of our young scientists!
In Key Stage 2, Beech Class impressed us all by creating a human electrical circuit—making an energy stick light up and buzz! There was plenty of amazement when it worked with the whole class joined together. We have also loved seeing learning extend beyond the classroom, with home learning that shared fantastic models with moving parts, demonstrating circuits and switches in action.
This week, children in Year 6 have been bringing their learning together by creating non-chronological reports on animals, focusing on adaptation and inheritance. Did you know…
🐬 Amazon River Dolphins may have adapted to freshwater by accident
🦝 Red Pandas use their fluffy tails as blankets
🐕 Sausage dogs were originally bred to hunt badgers
It has been wonderful to see such teamwork, curiosity and excitement across the school.

SPORT AT ROCKBEARE:
This half-term has been full of exciting PE opportunities, and the children have loved getting involved. Our coaches and teachers have delivered engaging lessons packed with games, challenges, and valuable lifelong skills.
Seven Key Stage 2 pupils represented the school brilliantly in our first football competition, winning two games and finishing second overall—just one point from first place!
Twelve of our Rockbeare “Aquanauts” also competed in a swimming gala, achieving fantastic results across 25 races, including five first-place finishes!
We were delighted to welcome Team GB judo athlete Lele Nairne, who led a fun circuit session and shared an inspiring message about achieving your dreams.
There’s plenty to look forward to next term, including Bikeability for Year 5, a Year 6 residential at PGL, Cross Country Day, Sports Day, and an RNLI sea safety session! Roll on summer!

WORLD BOOK DAY!
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces coming into school this morning! ☀️
We loved joining together in assembly to share the importance and enjoyment of books.
The staff have certainly embraced our Noah’s Ark theme today – it seems the teachers have come in two by two! 🐾 Ms Wilson and Mrs Follett bounced into school as inflatable zebras🦓🦓, which definitely caused a few giggles around the playground!
What a fantastic day celebrating books – and the sun came out for us too! 📚✨
