It’s strange, putting a painting up for sale.
Letting them go feels a little like releasing pieces of my own story out into the world.
Like trusting that something deeply personal might find a place in someone else’s life.
I want them to be loved, to be lived with, to become part of someone else’s quiet moments.
But that doesn’t make it easy.
Every painting carries something I can’t remake exactly the same way again.
And when it leaves, it takes that version of me with it. This one took 5 years for me to be ready to let it go, I just needed to be with it. However knowing that when I do let a painting go like this one 'Jerusalem' it ends up where it's meant to be it's what it's all about. And thank you to it's patient owners who waited so long for me to be ready to let it go:)

Colourful, expressive and abstraction from the heart created tuning into intuitive practice and trusting my process to lead the way. One part of a commission which I've been working on since the beginning of the year. It's got yummy areas of oil which are still drying, lots of layers and off to the farmers soon. It's leading the way for more new work.

Something a little bit different from the studio in progress oil on board. Initial inspiration from Hound Tor on Dartmoor, developed my own way intuition leading to what happens next how I love to paint.

Studio time this afternoon. Working on a number of paintings at once. Loving my time in the studio when I get the chance between family commitments and teaching. It's a very good place to reset and recharge.

Working on this one alongside two larger ones, including my commission piece. I've been looking at the larger ones more than adding layers this week, letting them just be. More work on them this weekend. Enjoy adding layers to this smaller one with oil bars. Working intuitively and it's a much needed release at the moment able to step into my creative space I really appreciate it.

In progress - Sunday studio time. Working on a number of paintings at the moment. And a commission, which is wonderful to have as I love the process. I always need to have at least a couple of paintings in progress at the same time. They feed from each other and energy flows between them informing each other. Also gives me time to reflect which is just as important as putting paint on the canvas, digesting what's happening and where it's going.

Playing and reworking a previous painting with some oil bars, I'm in love with using them again after a long time of not, butteriness is so yummy to use. Inspired by a recent trip to Dartmoor looking out towards the sea in the distance, layers through the landscape.
Also working on a commission piece which is at the beginning of its adventure:)

The beginning of the process. Colour palette and composition inspiration gathered for an upcoming commission. Exciting!

In the studio having a good old sort out, and a far bit of faffing around. Paintings lined up for either exhibiting or reworking. Feels like a good thing to crack on with on a wet and stormy Friday. Happy weekend!
