'Bling Your Bike' was a magical way to kick start the Christmas festivities. Our Climate Action Team had asked children to decorate their bike or scooter in a festive way and ride them to school. We were overwhelmed by the effort that went into each and every one! Think lights, think music, think baubles! It was incredibly difficult to choose 4 winning entries. The winners each received a voucher for the Evesham bike track and a box of chocolates.

The whole school visited the Everyman Theatre today and had the most wonderful time watching the pantomime, Robin Hood And His Merry Men. It had us laughing, singing and dancing throughout! The children, as always, were an absolute credit to the school.

Jack from Walk Wheel Cycle met with our Climate Action Team to discuss their upcoming plans. Jack and the Climate Action Team will be hosting a 'Bling Your Bike' session at Swan Lane on Friday 12th December. There will be prizes for the best decorated scooters and bikes! Think tinsel, think lights, think baubles, think BLING! We look forward to seeing what you ride to school on that day! There'll also be a chance at lunchtime to make your own decoration for your bike or scooter in a workshop hosted by the Climate Action Team.

The Pupil Leadership Team have visited All Saints Church to decorate the Swan Lane First School Christmas tree. Each year group had made a selection of decorations around the theme of 'Father Christmas'. The PLT did a great job of decorating the tree on our behalf. If you are passing the church, pop in and take a look!

Year 5 have been to London! They went to the Natural History Museum, completed a walk through London, taking in some of the sights including Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace before finishing at the Houses of Parliament. Once inside, they had a guided tour of the building, watching debates in both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. They also had a question and answer session with Nigel Huddlestone (MP for Evesham). It was a truly fabulous day.

The Pupil Leadership Team organised our fundraising day for Children In Need this year. We wore non-uniform in exchange for a donation to Children In Need. In line with this year's theme, 'Challenge Yourself To 25' , the PLT visited each classroom every hour and asked the children to complete a challenge each time. These included 25 minutes of reading, 25 star jumps, 25 laps of the hall and 25 seconds of silence. Together we have raised £330

Our Pupil Leadership Team asked our school community to donate items so that they could put together some Christmas shoeboxes. We have been overwhelmed with the response! The Pupil Leadership Team have now packed the boxes, carefully selecting items to pack in each box. Together we have made 67 boxes to donate to Teams4U. Thank you for your kindness and support Swan Lane!
