What’s on the ‘drawing board’:

Time to create a garden space that hides some red brick for these clients in this new build. Certainly a challenging shape to deal with. Initial ideas now ready to talk to the client about.

The beauty of now working designs digitally is they are quick to change and tweak. No more long sessions redrawing on tracing paper!

Have been working at The Lakes by Yoo for 10 months now on six plots at the same time. Fascinating work and, at the same time, a challenge to create gardens at this scale, using only native plants. Looking forward to posting photos of finished gardens soon ..

A whole lot of garden designing has been done the last few months!!

New design completed and sent to client. Small back garden needing a complete overhaul after a building project on the house. No lawn required so decided on a slightly raised ‘boardwalk’ feel through dense planting leading to a new patio at the end of the garden.

So, the time has come. Never thought I would get to this stage in my design life. I have moved over to digital designing!

For the last 20 years, I have hand drawn all my plans and have a huge pile of tracing paper plans and copies stored under the bed! Nightmare when a client wants another copy printed off.

I spent some time doing some research of CAD software packages and couldn’t find one and a) suited me and b) I could afford!

I have been trying out Morpholio Trace on my iPad Pro this week and love it! Emailed the plans to my printer and he copies them up, no problem.

I’m a covert!

Very busy few weeks coming up! Everyone has woken up from the winter and are starting to look at their gardens! Wish clients would get in touch over the winter months for their garden builds to happen in the spring, ready for summer!

This is a typical new build garden and although it is a good size, it is very overlooked and it echoes as sound bounces off the surrounding walls.

Client brief is to create a large area for a Pergola they are buying, to give more interesting planting and to incorporate their large existing planters and curved patio. Obviously need to provide some screening too.
