We have been redesigning our Local Offer website to provide better online information and advice for families with children with special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities. This includes children who have Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and those who don’t.
We have listened to parent carers, young people and professionals and organised the information by age groups to make it easier to find and used more pictures and videos. We’ve also written it from the view of someone who is completely new to the world of special educational needs and/or disabilities and tried to explain things clearly.
The new website contains all the information from the old one, along with lots of new information which families have told us they would find useful. Amongst other things, you will find:
🔵 Where to go if you have concerns about your child’s development.
🟣 How things might change as a child gets older.
🟡 Where to go if you’re not happy about something.
🟠 Information about EHCP, annual reviews and particularly the year nine review.
🟢 Information to help with transitions.
⚪ Information about the choices available for young people aged 16 and above.
🔴 Preparing for adulthood outcomes, what they are and tools to help with planning.
