Massive congratulations to our very own Áine Ward!!! What an absolute champ this girl is!
She is an All-Ireland GOLD medal winner in the u13s Shot Putt competition! And then to top it all off she went and won a SILVER medal today in the 60m hurdles. 🥇🥈
The drive and determination that this girl has to win is incredible. She gives it her all and stays super humble. 🙃
This is a name we will be seeing everywhere in the future! We are so proud to have an All-Ireland champion in our school! Well done Áine!!! 👍🏻

The 5th and 6th Class went on their school tour to Baysports in Athlone!
While they were there they took part in a wide range of activities like Kayaking, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Bush Crafting and some team building activities. Then they spent some time on the inflatable waterpark! 🛶
Huge thanks to Mrs. Mulchrone for organising such a lovely school tour and thanks to Ms. Manning for accompanying them.
They all had a wonderful time and they stopped off in McDonald’s on the way home for some hot food. 🍔

The Kit Mitchell Cup took place last Tuesday at Killyon Pitch. The children from 3rd and 4th Class took part with some girls from 2nd Class coming along to make up our team. 👭
Both the boys and girls played excellently and gave it their all. Unfortunately we did not take home to the cup on this occasion but I suppose we have to let someone else win things for a change. 😭
We will be working hard to get the Kit Mitchell Cup back in Killyon NS where it belongs next year! 💚❤️
Well done to everyone involved. Thanks for the other teams (Longwood, Moynalvey and Ballivor) for making the journey to Killyon.

Thanks to Ted Murtagh’s in Trim for their sponsorship on the day. Also huge thanks to our past pupils Lily, Karla and Evan for coming to referee the games for us. Not an easy job and they did brilliantly. 👍🏻

Some of the boys and girls competed in an athletics competition in Claremont in Navan.
The under 10’s and the under 11s competed in the Ball Throw, the 60m sprint and the 600m race. The under 12s and the under 13s competed in the Long Jump, 100m sprint and the 800m race. Then they competed in the relay where 1 boy from each age category could compete on the team. 🏃🏃🏃🏃
The children had a lovely day out of school. They represented themselves and the school very well and should be very proud of themselves. There were 20 other schools there so there was stiff competition but we did manage to come home with some medals on the day which was super-
🥈Aine came 2nd in the 100m race in the u12s catagory.
🥉Séan came 3rd in the 800m race in the u12s catagory.
🥉David came 3rd in the Long Jump in the u12s category.
Well done to all of the children involved! 😀

It was such a unique idea and a lot goes into organising these types of events.
