From icy letters to muddy kitchens, splashing in streams to flower colour hunts, this is what a Monday looks like at Tree House Friends.
Every activity is intentional. Every mess has a purpose. This is how children aged 2–5 learn best, outdoors, hands-on, led by curiosity.
Forest school isn’t a trend. It’s how we’ve always believed children should grow.

Thursday at Tree House Friends 🌲
Letters in the leaves. Numbers carved from wooden cubes. No worksheets in sight.
This is how our children explore early literacy and maths — through play, outdoors, with their hands.
It might look like “just playing,” but here’s what’s actually happening:
📚 Communication & Language + Literacy, recognising letters, making the link between symbol and sound, building the foundations of reading.
🔢 Mathematics, sorting, counting and spotting shapes in three dimensions. Holding a wooden cube teaches number in a way a flashcard never can.
🙌 Physical Development, every grasp, stack and balance is fine motor skill in the making.
This is EYFS in action. Learning that sticks, because it starts with curiosity rather than instruction.
Come see how your little one could spend their Thursdays. 🌳
No screens. No noise. Just cold water, crunchy leaves, and the best kind of tired at pick-up time. 🌿
Ice + food colouring + curious hands = science, colour theory, and pure joy — all before lunch.
This is what learning looks like at Tree House Friends.
When royalty starts championing play-based learning, you know it’s not just a trend. It’s science. It’s childhood. It’s what we do every day at Trent Park.
Tree House Friends is opening its doors on Saturday 6th June — a chance to step into our forest school and see how children aged 1–5 learn through mud, sticks, and proper play.

How much outdoor time does your child get on a typical weekday?
Real confidence isn’t built at a desk. It’s built climbing trees, crossing streams, and making decisions in the nature. That’s our classroom at Trent Park every day. 🌿
Swings, books, mud, puddles, and little boots splashing through streams, just another day at Tree House Friends.
Spoiler: they never want to go home. 🙈
Spring didn’t wait for an invitation this year, the children found it first, jumped in it, rolled around in it, and came back absolutely glowing
