Here at Flip, we believe children have an amazing ability to absorb information if it is presented to them in an engaging, motivating and age appropriate way. The learning must be embedded within these other factors, for effective learning to take place. This is true from a baby’s developmental milestones all the way through to upper primary age and beyond. In keeping with Flip’s ethos, children w
ill learn through play whilst practicing social and communication skills, providing them with the essential tools and confidence needed to begin their primary education. Flip provides a fun and safe learning environment, enhanced by the vital support and encouragement of their parent, carer, grandparent etc. A variety of learning styles are catered for, ensuring every child can access and enjoy the sessions. Mini Flippers (age 2-3 year olds) and Little Flippers (age 3-4 year olds) will partake in structured sessions where one sound and one number will be the focus each week. The children will sing Flip’s special sound songs, play games, interact with each other, use tactile resources and generally have fun, without any idea that they are learning! The repetitive nature of the sessions provide a familiarity for the children, allowing them to feel confident when returning the next week. After 30 minutes, children have the opportunity for free play alongside the other children, while parents and carers can socialise with a cup of tea and a biscuit!
