🌲 What We've Been Up To This Summer - Learning & Growing

This month, Lauren attended Forest Kindergarten Leader training, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to support our children’s learning and development in the outdoors. 🍃🌿 This training was supported by a £500 grant from Ellon Rotary Club, for which we are incredibly grateful. 💚

Over the next few months, Lauren will be working on her portfolio and putting her new knowledge into practice. We’re excited to see her develop her skills and bring her learning to life within our Early Years setting! 🌳💚

🌞What We’ve Been Up To This Summer – Our New Play Space

Over the summer months we’ve been busy creating a new, secure outdoor space for our setting and we’re delighted with the progress!

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make take the plans from ideas to reality:

🚜 Groundworks: PTM Plant
🪵 Fencing: Martin Duncan Fencing
🏠 Portacabin: Finnie 4x4

This project has been made possible thanks to funding from Hill of Fiddes, along with generous corporate and private donations.

Most importantly this wouldn’t have been possible without the continued help and support from our parent led committee as well as our amazing parents. Your time, hard work and support mean so much to us. ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part in making our new outdoor space a reality. We can’t wait to see the children enjoying, exploring and making memories in their new outdoor space.

On Saturday, our staff and members of the community spent the day updating their vital first aid skills with the wonderful Fran from Little Lives First Aid

This opportunity was made possible thanks to the very much appreciated support of Udny Community Trust Company Ltd, who continue to invest in helping ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in our community.

Last week, we were delighted to attend the 2026 Community Grants Afternoon hosted by the Ellon Rotary Club. Lauren and our Chairperson, Corey, were thrilled to accept a generous £500 grant to support Lauren’s Forest Kindergarten Leader training.

This funding will help ensure our team continues to lead in high-quality Forest Kindergarten experiences for the children and families who attend our setting.

Lauren is looking forward to travelling to Glasgow this summer to take part in her residential course, further enhancing her already exceptional practice and skills.

A huge thank you to Ellon Rotary Club for their support and investment in our setting and the children in our community.

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

We are delighted to be hosting the above course on Saturday 23rd May at the Playgroup Hall. 9am - 3:30pm.

We have a couple of spaces available, free of charge, for anyone who would be interested in attending to further their experience and knowledge in paediatric first aid.

This opportunity has been very kindly supported by Udny Community Trust Company Ltd and we would be delighted if any members of our community can join in.
