What a fantastic day Osprey Class had on our trip to Liverpool today! 🚆🎨🏺
The children were an absolute credit to the school from start to finish. They were exceptionally well behaved on the train and whilst walking to and from the stations, and they thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of travelling by train together.
At the Walker Art Gallery, the children explored a wonderful collection of artwork and sculptures, asking thoughtful questions and showing great enthusiasm throughout.
We also took part in an amazing Egyptian Masterclass where the children learned all about hieroglyphics, Egyptian amulets, how the Ancient Egyptians prepared important people for the afterlife, and deepened their knowledge of our current Ancient Egypt topic. It was wonderful to see the children making so many connections with their learning back in the classroom.
A huge thank you to all of the adults who gave up their time to help make the trip possible – your support is greatly appreciated. It was also lovely to welcome Miss Matthews back for the day, which was a fantastic surprise for the children!
A brilliant day full of learning, discovery and fun. Well done, Osprey Class! ⭐

At pick up today, you might notice some lines of chalk on the playground. This is because some children in The Den were challenging themselves to get their personal best length in long jump. They were encouraging each other and helping to mark out each others PB’s with different coloured chalk for each person. 🏆

Owls are learning all about London and its famous landmarks. In our storytelling area, we've mapped out and built London so we can go on bus tours and learn the history of the city. In OUR retelling of the story of the missing princes, the princes -who are being held captive by their uncle Richard in Tower Bridge - are rescued by Batman and The Hulk and Richard was never king.

Red Kite Class had a wonderful time welcoming members of the Methodist Church into school on Thursday afternoon, for a special ’Messy Church’ taster session.
Year 1 enjoyed singing songs, listening to the story of Noah’s Ark, and taking part in exciting parachute games. They also got creative and made some lovely rainbow paintings!
A big thank you to the Methodist Church team for giving our children such an engaging and enjoyable experience.

Merlin class have started their new computing unit by looking at creating our own Stop Motion animations! In this lesson, we have had the chance to work in pairs and experiment with the Stop Motion app. We also created our own short movies using our choice of objects and backdrops. Some of us even began to add voice recordings to our characters. 📽️🎬

Reception have been working on developing their rich language and oracy skills. As part of their minibeast topic, the children imagined their own minibeasts and described exactly what they saw in their minds. Their descriptions were put into ICT with Mr P's 'Teachmate' AI generator which brought their words to life. This caused lots of excitement and smiles and helped children understand the importance of descriptive language.
