What’s the last book you read that left an impression?

Noah built before the rain fell.
Abraham left before he knew where he was going. The woman with the issue of blood reached for Jesus before she felt healing in her body.

Throughout Hebrews 11, faith moves before visible confirmation arrives. There are moments when God graciously gives evidence before action. But there are also moments when the evidence only appears after the step has been taken.

In my new book, Forged in the Waiting, written with my good friend Dr Clem Ferris, we explore the faith that responds to God’s word before circumstances make obedience appear sensible. What first step could you take today, even before you see the complete result?

In Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” This was not passive resignation.

It was the most costly expression of trust. Jesus honestly expressed His desire for the cup to pass, yet He surrendered the outcome to the Father.

That surrender became the pathway through the cross and into resurrection.

Sometimes breakthrough comes by removing the obstacle. At other times, God gives us the grace and authority to walk through what remains.

In Forged in the Waiting, we explore surrender as a posture of trust rather than defeat. What outcome are you still trying to control instead of placing into the Father’s hands?

Jesus moved the disciples’ problem out of the category of things requiring better human solutions and into the category of conditions in which God acts.

That is an important distinction. As long as we believe the answer depends entirely upon our strength, strategy, influence or resources, we remain trapped inside the limits of what we can produce.

Faith does not ignore the wall. It changes who is responsible for moving it.

In my new book, Forged in the Waiting, we explore what happens when human impossibility becomes the setting for divine possibility.

What burden are you carrying as though everything still depends upon you?

In Matthew 19:26, Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Jesus did not deny the impossibility.
He acknowledged it honestly.
Then He introduced the reality that changes every calculation: with God.

Biblical faith does not require you to pretend the diagnosis, financial pressure, family situation or closed door is insignificant. It asks you to refuse to treat human limitation as the final word.

In my new book, Forged in the Waiting, written with my friend Clem Ferris, we explore how God meets ordinary people in specific, seemingly impossible situations.

What becomes possible when you place your impossibility into the hands of God?

Heaven’s agenda isn’t separate from your business plan. When you're seeking solutions, aligning priorities, or mapping the future—God may be speaking.

Strategic moments become sacred when you invite His voice into the process.

Don’t just brainstorm. Discern.

Abram had received a clear promise, but years passed without a son.

By Genesis 15, the gap between what God had said and what Abram could see had become painfully wide.

Many believers know this tension.
You once felt certain.

Then time passed, circumstances remained unchanged, and questions began to rise:
Did I mishear?
Did I misunderstand?
Was it only my own enthusiasm?

God did not condemn Abram for bringing the tension into the conversation. He answered him and reaffirmed the promise.

In my new book, Forged in the Waiting (now in hardcover) we speak directly to those carrying a genuine word from God through a long season of delay. Has waiting caused you to question what once seemed clear?

In Genesis 15:1, God told Abram, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

God did not merely promise to send protection. He declared that His own presence would stand between Abram and what he feared. That changed the question.

The question was no longer whether Abram was strong enough to protect himself, his future or the promise. The question became whether God was enough.
