Eckington School students are celebrating today as they opened their GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualification results and achieving record-breaking results for the school.
A total of 226 students sat exams across 23 different subjects, achieving significantly improved results across the board:

- 44.2% achieved a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths, a staggering 10.9% improvement on last year’s results
- 61.5% of students secured Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, an 8.5% improvement on 2025’s results

Further success was also seen with 12.7% of students achieving Grade 7 to 9s. Three particularly brilliant students achieved the exceptional outcome of Grade 7 to 9 in all their subjects. Students exceeded expectations and received the highest grades in Art, Photography, and Triple Science. The Total Attainment 8 score has also improved from 40.61 to 44.01, almost half a grade.

Eckington School's vibrant Sixth Form welcomes post-16 students from both within its existing Year 11 student group and from a range of other schools. We offer a wide variety of courses, accessed from our dedicated sixth form facility.

A small message from our headteacher, Mr Richard Cronin, on today's results:

“We are all extremely proud of our Year 13 students who together have achieved an excellent set of results. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff.

Our diverse curriculum, brilliant Building Futures enrichment programme and Careers Mark Platinum careers guidance have ensured that our students are well-prepared to succeed, and we’d like to thank our students and staff for all their hard work.

As our Year 13s embark on their next steps, we wish them all well in their future education and career pathways.”

🎉 Today we're celebrating our best results since the Sixth Form joined Chorus Education Trust in April 2023.

Across all Level 3 courses (A levels, BTECs and others):
• 74.7% achieved A* to C (4.6% higher than 2025’s results, and 7.3% higher than in 2023)
• 47.8% achieved A* to B (12.8% higher than 2025’s results, and 13.6% higher than in 2023)
• 20.2% achieved A* to A (Nearly three times higher than 2025’s results of 6.8%, and nearly double 2023’s results of 10.4%)

We are all extremely proud of our Year 13 students who together have achieved an excellent set of results. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff. As our Year 13s embark on their next steps, we wish them all well in their future education and career pathways.
