Year 2 of studying with the Open University complete, 1 year remaining. Since starting it has given me a new profound respect for the effort and time needed to study, write assignments and do it well, more so given the current circumstances. For that I would like to say well done to those OU students that achieved what they set out to accomplish, it has been a tough year. For anyone else, keep going, it will all be worth it once you have finished. It also reminds me that you are never too old to learn and even if you have been in business for 15+ years like me, you do not know it all!

Congratulations to those students at the OU who finished their degrees, I hope you are able to finally graduate face to face this year. For those still on the journey like me, whether starting out or part way through, keep going and good luck.

National Union of Students(NUS) has launched its Student Safety Net campaign!

Here’s how to get involved...

Student Safety Net covers asks to protect students financially in the short term and ensure the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t negatively impact students in the long term.

These are stressful times for everyone, and the findings from the NUS Coronavirus and Students Survey show just how much strain students are under. Our thanks go to the near 10,000 of you who took the time to complete the in-depth survey.

The survey has shown so much about students’ priorities and concerns around Coronavirus, and the results have informed the Student Safety Net campaign, which launched yesterday.

Get involved by sharing the campaign on social media...

We can win this campaign by spreading our messages far and wide, making sure the government knows that our issues can’t be ignored. Over 80% of us who have worked to support our studies might now need financial support to get through, and a third of us risk losing our education this year.

By sharing, commenting, liking and broadly spreading the word you will help to make a difference and get the word to the government in order to support training, development and education.
