Teaching on a individual basis gives me the ability to use resources that are difficult to use in a classroom setting. Here we used Smarties to explore the beginnings of Algebra!
If your child could benefit from a boost in confidence in Maths or English I do have a couple of sessions left on a Tuesday and Thursday after school, taught in Eastergate at my house. £21 for a 45 minute session. DM for more information.

Confidence plays such a key role in our lives to be able to reach our potentials. I believe giving children an environment where they feel safe to make mistakes and "have another go" helps them to not feel worried about "doing it wrong". They can then think clearly about the challenges before them. Thank you to this kind Mum who wrote this review.

Here at Kate's Classes I try to make learning as fun as possible. Here is a small selection of the range of resources I use to help children understand and remember the number facts that add up to make 10 - essential knowledge that is used throughout their Maths journey and is taught in schools from Reception onwards.

Welcome to my page to share some of the ways we learn, and the kind of experiences that pupils receive at Kate's Classes. I have over 20 years of experience teaching children, firstly in Primary schools and then for the last 10 years, as a Piano teacher and tutor. Whether a child needs a boost of confidence in Maths (to Yr 8 ) or English (to Yr 6) skills or have a wish to learn the Piano, I offer an informal, caring environment where your child can be taught at their own pace and have activities taylor made for them, both for their academic level and accommodating their everyday interests. I teach from a designated room at my house in Eastergate that we call the "Learning Lounge". I always display a current DBS check.
