Some lovely moments at Little Companions as Reema and Naazish lead the team into 10 years of inspiring and nurturing young minds😍. We achieved an OUTSTANDING at our recent Ofsted which was well deserved by the team, who have been evolving in all things early years within the past year. With all the team on some form of professional development, level 3 SENDCO, Early years professional development course, supporting emotional literacy to a Masters in Early years education and leadership, it really has reignited an already well versed team :-) We have had visits from interesting creatures and created some wonderful long term projects with the children- growing and harvesting, making our own pond- weeks of layering ideas and reflecting whilst lots of critical thought and problem solving :-) There was team work, shared ideas and rich communication and language, lovely holistic learning within the play pedagogy enabled for the children's developmental journey :-) 🤩

Last week was the 'National Week of Play'. In accordance with UN Article 31 -“That every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play'', the week was a timely reminder of the value of play and its essential role in child development and learning.

So let's think about 'Reclaiming the Children's right to play' especially during these challenging times, 'play' has an important part in supporting children holistically with physical, emotional and cognitive development- So do have fun playing knowing you are providing the most valuable foundation through these interactions in your child's formative years ❤️

Play is not just a right that we can bestow on children, it is a basic need integral to their learning and development and vital to their wellbeing...

Due to the current climate many of the children have missed having friends over to their houses and when asked what they would like to do at the end of our term, movie time with friends was voted in :-) So we delivered movie fun, the children made their own seating arrangements, popcorn was made, the red carpet laid, tickets 'purchased' and movie voted in and what a fun session it was. The children shared their thoughts responding to the emotions felt in the movie to what they thought would happen next :-) lovely language, lots of dancing and general happy feeling all round :-)❤🥳

Wishing our Little Companions happy holidays with loved ones. As we end our year, we are filled with gratitude of the positivity, resilience our little ones and practitioners have shown through these challenging times. A reminder of the importance of role-modelling to our next generation management of the evolving world with a positive mindset so they continue to be happy, curious and inquisitive in their developmental journey which is just beginning :-) From exploring their favourite stories to wonderful outdoor fun, taking risks and well just sharing lots of joy- the term has definitely been fulfilling. Best wishes and see you all in 2021 🥰

We end our most challenging but rewarding term with our lovely little ones :-) From virtual engagement whilst the little ones were at home to lots of outdoor fun on our return, the children adapted wonderfully supported by the positivity of the Early years practitioners :-) Thank you to our parents for their ongoing support and crucial partnership to ensure effective engagement with your little ones during these unprecedented times.

We hope your summer is full of fun and meaningful play and you can enjoy certain activities and outdoor spaces with a little more ease within the guidelines :

Some lovely images from some of our favourite characters to represent the guidelines in place to support our little ones' understanding in the current situation. The children were amazing in preschool with ensuring they did regular hand washing, using tissues, and the dab for coughing or sneezing into :-) They reminded their friends, and we sang many songs whilst washing those little hands :-) Don't forget to moisturise too :-)
