We would like to invite prospective parents to visit our amazing school for our Open Evening on Tuesday 13th October 4.30pm - 5.30pm.

We will begin with a Headteacher's welcome with refeshments followed by a tour of our school. Come and meet our nurturing staff and some of our pupils who would love to show what makes our school a 'hidden treasure.' Please bring your children along as we will have hands on activities for them.

A reminder that we will be taking part in Hello Yellow tomorrow to raise awareness and funds for YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity for young people’s mental health.

We’ll be taking part by adding something yellow to our uniform.

Many young people are struggling with their mental health right now and that’s why days like Hello Yellow matter. By teaching young people to explore their feelings, how to talk about them and who to reach out to for help, we’re giving them the tools they need.

By raising funds for YoungMinds, we’re making sure that they have access to support when it matters most.

You can donate to support our school’s fundraising by https://fundraise.youngminds.org.uk/s/8122/8824 or scanning the QR code.

Most importantly, we want to share the resources which YoungMinds offer to support parents and carers if you ever need help and advice.
This includes:
Online resources (www.youngminds.org.uk/parent)
A phoneline service for parents and carers to speak to trained professionals if you’re concerned about your children’s mental health: 0808 802 5544 (Open 9.30am-4pm)
As well as an online chat and email service (www.youngminds.org.uk/parents-helpline)

All the children in Year 1 and Year 2 had a very exciting afternoon on Monday 28th September.
It was Reading Celebration Week at Langney Community Library and, as part of this special week, we welcomed the award winning author, Clare Helen Welsh, into Shinewater.
Clare read her newest book, ‘Together Street’ to the children and then they all took part in a draw-along with her. After that, everyone worked together to create a vibrant street collage.
Clare kindly left Shinewater several signed copies of her books.
The collage will be on display soon at Langney Shopping Centre so please be sure to look out for it!

Happy 40th Birthday to Shinewater Primary School! 🥳

The children have been finding out today what our school used to be like with some old photos and some staff talking about their time at Shinewater.

Can you help us ... we have no photos before 1989 of the school building, staff or pupils. If you happen to have any please let us know.

We have things planned throughout the year to celebrate this special birthday.
Firstly, we have asked children to create birthday cards for our school that can be displayed. It would be lovely for them to write inside what their favourite memory has been of their time here.

Previous pupils and staff, we would love to hear from you about what you remember about being at Shinewater School. We would love to know what you are doing now. Either send an email to the school office or write a comment below.
