After Christmas Year 3 are going to completing some art work linked to the Rainforest. As part of their planning they are going to be creating some mood boards. If you have any magazines, with good quality and colourful imagery (such as home, garden and fashion magazines) that you are looking to recycle please give them to your child's class teacher and ask them to pass them to Mrs Jarvis.
Thank you
Pop-Up cards
After Christmas some year groups will be looking at pop-up card/book mechanisms. If you receive pop-up style cards for Christmas and are looking to recycle them please consider donating them to us to support our Design &Technology curriculum.

Aspirations Week 2023!
We will be joining other schools in the Trust during the week of 23 January 2023 for an Aspirations Week. A key part of this will be a number of workshops for children to hear from people who have pursued aspirational careers and are able to run some practical activities with children across the school. If you are available to help or have something you would like to share with the children in support of this vision, please do let Mr Gowland know via the school office. Thank you.
If your child has been invited to sing carols at the PFA event after school today, please collect them as usual and then meet Miss Hobbs and Miss Charles at the blue gate opposite the main office reception at 3.25pm. Thank you
Tomorrow is Christmas dinner day at East Tilbury Primary. No need to preorder, children can just select the 🔴 Roast Turkey dinner or the 🔵 Quorn fillet dinner option on the day. Dinner money (including the Christmas dinner) is £2.30 per day and is paid via the MCAS app. Red/Blue Christmas dinner replaces the normal menu and will be the only options on the day. If your child will not eat these meals, please ensure they have a packed lunch provided.
The children may also wear a Christmas Jumper to school tomorrow with their usual school uniform.
Stars of the Week
With so many of you managing to join the children for our stay and make events last week and this week, you would have seen for yourselves just how difficult it is to choose just one Star per class each week. The children have, as always, been fantastic in their enthusiasm and effort to engage with activities and learning across the school. Well done to all of our most recent winners, some of whom are pictured here. This also includes a year 1 child whose photo was previously sent through from the class, but was somehow missing from the post when the photos were uploaded - well done to everybody!
Pick up arrangements will be the same as drop off this morning. Thank you
EYFS have built a wonderful snowman today.
Although the book fair has been cancelled after school today, you are still able to use the link below to access our online book fair.

For our enrichment day, year 1 looked at wheels and axles. They began by experimenting how wheels move, and noticed that they needed something to help the wheels turn freely (axle holder/bracket). After learning all about this, year 1 had so much fun designing and making their own cars with moving wheels! 🚗
Next week the pupils in year 3 will be making magnetic games as part of their science lesson. If you have any clear plastic bottles at home that are no longer needed could you please send them into school with your child.
Thank you
Thank you to all the parents that joined year 1 for their Christmas crafts afternoon. The children had so much fun making their Christmas tree decorations, we think they look amazing! ❄️ ⛄️ 🎄
Year 5 had an excellent day learning more about the Vikings
