We have had a number of enquiries following the release of term dates for 2024/25, asking for the calendar 2023/24. This calendar was sent out last year but can be viewed on the school website, under the TERM DATES heading. A blue box will appear saying 2023/24 which, once clicked on, will show this year’s dates. Thank you

Here are some of our superstars this week. 🌟
Information about the challenge can be found on this week’s newsletter.
On the day, children can come to school in non-uniform wearing blue, red or white (or a combination). We ask for a voluntary contribution of up to a £1, or if you would like to donate more, in change (1p,2p,5p,10,20p etc).
In conjunction with the PFA we will be raising money for a Sensory Trail to be installed in the playground to add to our outdoor learning experience for all children and especially those with SEND. Our plan is to use the change brought in to create a money trail in the shape of the Queen’s crown.
On the day, weather permitting, children will eat outside with their classes (mini, street-party style) and enjoy a creative activity in the classroom as well as learning all about the history of the Queen and her life. A cold lunch option will be available if your child usually has a dinner so that all the children can sit together outside (more details on this to follow).
We look forward to this celebration of her majesty’s life. This will replace our ‘biscuit’ non-uniform day for this half-term.
They were extremely proud of what they had created! Well done Year 1! 👏👏
We are a Primary School in East Tilbury, Thurrock and part of the Osborne Cooperative Academy Trust
Operating as usual

Our support form will be monitored throughout the summer holidays. If you need a foodbank voucher over the summer, please get in contact via the form.
Foodbank: We are now working collaboratively with the Thurrock
Foodbank and are now able to issue you directly with Foodbank vouchers, which hopefully will make this an easier and less stressful situation for you to have to deal with. We also have our own basic Foodbank where we have cupboard staples which we are able to supply you with if needed.

We would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to all of the parents and carers that donated uniform to us at the end of term. Our uniform shop is now fully stocked and we currently have no space to store anymore. If you still have uniform that you would like to donate The 180 Project are still collecting uniform for local schools.

THIS WEEKEND 💃
We are prepping for a very busy weekend! Please scroll down our page and read our FAQs, if you still have a question, drop us a message.
Until Friday we have an additional collection point at 16 Second Ave, SS17 8DR open 9am-9pm - you will seen a dustbin clad with our posters. Just pop your donation in there! (Yes, you can still bring directly to our events this weekend if you prefer)
We look forward to seeing you all this weekend! 🤓🤓🤓

We will be opening our uniform shop today for those families that wish to collect some pre-loved uniform from us. It will be opening from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Parents can use the Year 3 gate to enter the Library were Mrs Allen and Mrs Jarvis will be available to help with uniform requests.

We have decided that the normal end of term non-uniform day will go ahead on Wed 19th July. Children can come to school in non-uniform. This day also coincides with a national walk to school event, and we encourage children to wear colourful socks and shoes as part of their non-uniform. A voluntary donation of £1 can be made with all proceeds going towards our nurture work (biscuit time) in school. Sorry for any confusion and we look forward to the children celebrating their last day of the school year in non-uniform.

Year 2 used some rather life like models to sketch insects during art on enrichment day. Some of them are very real-looking! We also played an animal quiz, solved the case of the stolen spacesuit and designed bug hotels. You could say these children have caught the learning... 'Bug'!

Congratulations to Rebecca and Chloe in Year 6 who have received the prestigious Bata Award for their efforts within the community, including organising litter picking to keep the local area tidy. This is the first time in the history of the award it has been awarded to more than one pupil. Well done girls!
We are looking for some resources to support our Year 1 curriculum next year. If you have any of the following toys that you no longer need and are still in good condition we will happily accept them to supplement our Year 1 curriculum. Mrs Carter will be at the main blue gate (where Reception, Year1 and Year 2 enter the school) on Wednesday morning to accept them from you.
Lego
Construction toys
Small world - cars, dinosaurs, farmyard animals etc.
Phonics games

3NM's shields from Curriculum Enrichment Day

Last week we noticed that outside 3LD a bird had been nesting and 4 eggs were in the nest. This morning we saw that the eggs had hatched. The mother bird is visiting the nest regularly and the children are watching through the windows with amazement.

Some dancing for the last moments of the Year 6 camp out

A little bit of rain won’t stop the fun at the Year 6 camp out. We just got comfy inside instead and enjoyed a film with slushies and popcorn.

Year 4 have enjoyed dressing up as Egyptians for Curriculum Enrichment Day.

Year 3 have enjoyed dressing up as Romans for the day. They have been busy making Roman shields as part of Curriculum Enrichment Day.

Year 5 have been busy making Stop Motion videos linked to The Iron Man for Curriculum Enrichment Day. We can’t wait to see the finished projects 🎬🎥
Bring an extra bag on Monday
On Monday, children will bring home their schoolbooks. To support with this process please could you send your children in with a plastic bag so they can carry them to you. Thank you for your support with this.

Some magical entertainment, then much needed BBQ dinner followed by a visit from an ice cream van at the Year 6 camp out

Please find below the sessions running at the East Tilbury Family Hub during July.

Here comes the summer!☀🥤 Being realistic, the long school holiday probably equates to increased screen time for many children. Our poster has some pointers to help young ones steer clear of common risks 🛡
