West Street Pre-school Retford Pre-school Welcome to West Street Pre-school. We are registered by OFSTED and received a 'GOOD' standard across all areas.

We are a Registered Charity (No: 1036704) run by a voluntary committee for over 40 years in the heart of Retford, offering a service to children aged 2-5 years old. (you can read our report at: Ofsted report West Street Preschool 24th March 2022)
Our aim is to ensure that children's time here with us is happy & productive through the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum
Our opening hours

are Mon-Fri,39 weeks out of the year (Term Time OLNY)
Mon-Thu
Morning Sessions - 8.45am-11.45am
Lunch Club 11.45-12.15pm (£4.00)
Afternoon Sessions - 12.15pm-3.15pm
Fri Morning Sessions only. Each session costs £18.00
Our dedicated, caring, knowledgeable team are key to our success. We have developed Policies & Procedures to ensure your child/ren are safe & secure whilst at the pre-school. Our staff ratio is 1:4 this enables us to give each child dedication & support on their learning journey. Each child has their own 'Key Person' who is responsible for your child's Development File & liaising with you. We welcome children with or without disabilities and children who's first language may not be English. We also offer Government Nursey Grant Funding to those eligible. Say hello to our little caterpillars 🐛
This morning we took it in turns to have a close look at them whilst learning about how they will turn into beautiful butterflies. Over the next few weeks the children will be able to see the full butterfly cycle, and we are all excited to watch them fly away 🦋

Pre-school Assistant Vacancy
Part-time 17.5 hours per week
Term Time Only (39 weeks a year)
Monday & Wednesday 8.30am- 3.30pm; Friday 8.30am – 1.00pm.
Annual Salary including annual leave £10,201.92 (before tax)
Rate per hour £13.07 (Paid pro rata over the year - increases yearly in line with Government guidance.)
Candidates must be Level 3 C.C.L.D qualified or over.
Closing Date: 3rd June 2026
Interview Date: 5th June 2026

5-year address history (including proof of current address, Bank statement, utility bill etc no older than 3 months)
