What a morning!

This year I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the committee organising the East Grinstead 10K, which has involved lots of behind-the-scenes planning, meetings, making arrangements, contacting local businesses and reaching out to sponsors.

And today was the day when all that preparation came together!

I arrived on the finishing field early this morning to the most beautiful misty sunrise, with a pile of medals ready and a very busy few hours ahead!

I was in charge of the finishing field, and it was just brilliant. We had the most amazing team of around 50 run club members helping throughout the morning, all giving their time to make the event happen. ❤️

And what a year to be part of it…

403 runners — our biggest number ever!
Our biggest profit ever!
And every penny of that profit will go back to local charities.

There was such a wonderful atmosphere on the field, and watching everyone crossing that finish line after all the months of planning was incredibly special.

I’m feeling very, very humbled to have been part of it. 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who ran, volunteered, sponsored, donated and supported the event — it really does take a whole community to make something like this happen.

And after a very early start… I think I’ve definitely earned a quiet evening! 🥰

It’s a busy weekend for me and my run club!

This year I’ve been part of the committee organising the East Grinstead 10K, which has involved quite a lot of behind-the-scenes planning — meetings, making arrangements, contacting local businesses and reaching out to local sponsors to help make the event happen.

One of my jobs was to contact our local Waitrose to see if they would kindly donate bananas for the finishers… and they very generously said yes! 🥰

So today I had the very important job of collecting 400 bananas ready for tomorrow’s race!

A huge thank you to East Grinstead Waitrose for their generosity — I’m sure they’re going to be very welcome after a 10K run!

It’s been lovely being involved in the event this year and working as a team and seeing all the behind-the-scenes planning finally come together.

Now for a quiet evening before the big day tomorrow!

A little glimpse into another part of my working week! 😊

Alongside my private tuition sessions, I also tutor during the school day, working alongside a lovely team of tutors supporting young people who aren’t currently attending school. And I love it - it’s so inspiring being part of a larger team who I love keeping up to date with the education system with.

For the past two years I’ve been hot-desking, moving between different spaces. This year, however, I’ve been very lucky to have my own little teaching space! 🥰

It’s a bit of a blank canvas at the moment, but I’m already planning plants, pretty pictures and a few cosy touches to make it feel a little more like mine.

I’m really looking forward to creating a calm, welcoming space to work from — and I’ll share the transformation when it’s done!
