Dear all,

We hope you are all well and with lockdown gradually easing, we wanted to update you with regards to our wraparound morning and after school club for The Meads School. With the premises landlord not allowing commercial bookings for the foreseeable future, it has not been possible to reopen at our previous location. Whilst Day One are looking forward to other projects and existing clubs, none will be available in the East Grinstead locale. Saying this we are pleased to hear via social media that in fact The Meads School is now offering some form of club. We hope this avails of the need for a further external club. Day One has remained closed since the initial lockdown following a legal instruction to do so. Following a revised Government Guidance issued a couple of days ago [dealing with out of school settings for children] and following our own Risk Assessment, it was concluded that we would reopen our doors for existing places to continue or new places to be taken up commencing from the start of the September 2020 term.

However, with sadness we have today been informed by the landlord that the premises used for our club namely St. Barnabas Hall is no longer available for community based activities, such as ours, for the foreseeable future.

Regrettably we are therefore remaining closed for the foreseeable future and will not be able to reopen in September as envisaged or hoped.

We would like to thank you for your support and wish you well for the future

Dear Parents,

Upon completion of our Covid-19 risk assessment as required, we are regrettably not able to offer any places for children whom will be in reception in September for after school provisions only.

We are happy to be able to offer places for reception aged children for our breakfast club only.

Current situation for out of school clubs
With a number of announcements regarding the re-opening of childcare settings being made over the past couple of weeks, there is some confusion about the current state of play for out of school clubs. We have summarised the current situation below:

Before and after school childcare
Wraparound settings providing before and after school childcare have been allowed to open since 1 June, but only if the club:

Operates on school premises
Only takes children from that school
Only takes children who are currently attending that school (ie only those for whom the school is open)
Maintains the same health protection measures as the school (eg keep children in the same ‘bubbles’ as the school
If your wraparound setting operates off a school site, for example in a church hall, it is not currently allowed to open. The DfE is expected to lift this rule 'soon', probably on 4 July, but until this happens, wraparound clubs are restricted to school sites.

Dear parents as I am unsure when we can open I am in the process of registering as a childminder and will be offering childcare as soon a my inspection takes place. I will of course keep everyone updated on Day One ASAP
