Tudhoe Colliery Primary School

Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic Outdoor Adventure Activities session with Go Well at Hardwick Park this week. The focus was teamwork, and the children absolutely rose to the challenge. They tackled an energetic Active Ted mission, navigated a blindfolded obstacle course, and worked together brilliantly during a swamp‑crossing team game. Thankfully, every single one of them escaped the crocodiles unscathed. After the activities, we explored the beautiful park grounds, fed the ducks, and even stumbled upon the Gruffalo hiding in the woods. It was a day full of adventure, laughter, and cooperation. A huge thank‑you to the Go Well team for delivering such a memorable experience.

Year 4 have been updating their Tudhoe 30s this morning. 30 plus experiences that we want every child at our school to have before they leave. 📒🔖

Year 4 have been looking back to the beginning in Reception and then adding pages to their very special scrapbook! We’ve added our First Aid day, our trip to a mosque and our visit to the Baltic Art Gallery. 🤩

Year 4 have had a fantastic afternoon at the Baltic! 🖼️

We looked at two exhibitions! Our favourite was all about the oceans and what we can do to help protect the animals that live in it. We took photos of architecture on our walk to the gallery, ready for an up and coming art project. We even managed to get on the viewing gallery to see Newcastle from a different perspective!

Year 2 enjoyed their author workshop with Liz Pichon! As well as listening to part of her novel, we sang, drew and danced the session away! 🎵✍️📖🤩

Everyone had a brilliant time on our Cricket Day this week 🏏😍

Year 4 are in the middle of their final RE project. 📕🏞️

We’re creating books on pilgrimages! The front covers are clear and eye-catching and they even have contents pages! No matter which religion you follow or whether you’re just interested in finding out more, Year 4 have you covered!

Year 4 are First Aiders! 🩹🧰

Chris from Thrills and Skills came to school to teach us everything we need to do in different emergencies. From calling 999 to fire emergencies, they know it! Well done Year 4!

Years 5 & 6 are enjoying their golf coaching lessons from Go Well ⛳️🤩

Everyone in school is totally quackers over Reception’s visitors! We’ve enjoyed watching our duckling eggs hatch and today they’ve been out to explore the classroom and have some cuddles 🥚🐥😍

Year 2 have been learning to read music, play notes on a glockenspiel and sing along to songs that made us want to dance along 🎶🎤

Everyone had a great Spring term rewards morning! We can’t believe spring term is over already 🏰🍦🤩
