Thanks to the Community Growing and Food Network coordinator for inviting us to this tour and discussion about food in County Durham. It was lovely to connect with old friends and meet new people passionate about the power of good food - for health, communities and the planet. The next gathering will take place on Thursday 15th October but I think the theme is yet to be decided 🤔.

On 14th July, the Community Growing and Food meeting took place at Re-f-use in Chester-le-Street, focused on the power of local food systems, exploring how food and growing organisations across the county can support community health and strengthen the local economy.

Following the consultation earlier this year, the Government is to ban the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to under 16’s in England.
The ban will come into force in April 2027 and will apply in shops, vending machines and online.
