Yesterday marked the final A Level Results Day for Durham High School. We are so proud of our latest cohort of alumni.
There was plenty to celebrate. Over 40% of grades were A*/A and more than three quarters were A* to B, an excellent set of results reflecting the hard work and commitment of our students and staff.
But Durham High has always been about much more than exam grades.
This cohort leaves us as leaders, sportswomen, actors, debaters, scientists, campaigners and volunteers. They have represented the school on stages, sports pitches and debating platforms, supported charities and younger pupils, travelled widely and, throughout it all, supported one another.
Their next steps are just as impressive. Among them are two students heading to Cambridge, future medics and pharmacists, several studying law, others moving into politics, history and science, and one with ambitions to become a pilot.
As they move on, they take something important with them: the confidence to aim high, the skills to be heard, the friendships to support them and the belief that they can make a difference.
The staff could not be prouder of this remarkable group of young women, not simply for the results they have achieved, but for the people they have become.
A fitting final Results Day and a strong legacy for Durham High School.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We look forward to seeing what you do next! 📚✏️🏫🎓
