🌟 La Jolie Ronde Scottish Meeting 🌟

This Sunday, I had the joy of attending my very first La Jolie Ronde meeting, and what an amazing experience it was! Being surrounded by inspiring women who share a passion for teaching languages filled me with so much motivation and joy. 💛

I am truly happy with my decision to join La Jolie Ronde and to continue sharing this incredible journey with all the children and families I have been working with. Seeing their progress and enthusiasm in every class is just fantástico! ✨

A huge thank you to all the amazing ladies who shared their experiences yesterday—it was so valuable and uplifting! Hope to see you all again soon, and as Gemma perfectly put it… "Catchin'!" 😄

🎭✨ Carnival Celebrations! 🎉💃

Hello everyone! This week, in Spain and many parts of the world, we are celebrating Carnaval, 😃a time of joy, colour, and tradition, much like Shrove Tuesday, where indulgence takes centre stage before Lent begins.

For me, Carnival brings back so many wonderful memories! In a small city near my hometown, we would immerse ourselves in the hustle and bustle of the fairground rides, enjoy delicious churros, dress up in costumes, and interact with others who were also dressed up. One of the most thrilling moments was watching the bull runs through the historic streets of Ciudad Rodrigo—a bit crazy, but incredibly exciting at the time!

Ciudad Rodrigo is home to the Carnaval del Toro, a festival that combines the joy of Carnival with the deep-rooted Spanish afición for bullfighting and bull runs. Whether you are a fan of the tradition or simply a spectator, there is no denying the passion and energy that fills the town during this time. The atmosphere, the laughter, and the sense of celebration made it such a magical experience.

🌟 ¡Hola! Share Your Chocolate Caliente Moments! 🍫☕

This past Saturday at Los Amigos de Mafalda, we listened to a mini-story where Tina was hiding under the leaves (hojas) while her friends walked and ran, searching for her. In the end, Tina got so cold that she decided to go home and warm up with a cup of chocolate caliente con churros! ☕🍩

To bring this story to life, all of our children were gifted a wee Spanish chocolate bag so they could make their own chocolate caliente at home with their families. 🥰

🎉✨ Is Christmas over for you? Not in Spain! 🎄🎁

Today is the magical night when Los Reyes Magos (the Three Wise Men) arrive to deliver Christmas presents to all the children. According to Catholic tradition, it’s the night when Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar traveled to Bethlehem to offer their gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus. 🎁👶

In Spain, this night is celebrated with massive parades, full of joy, music, and excitement! 🚶‍♂️🎶 Cities, towns, and even villages come alive with the magical procession of the Three Kings, who toss sweets and treats to all the children. 🍬🍫 It’s a fun-filled, heartwarming event that brings families together for one last big celebration of the Christmas season.

Dear Parents,

We are excited to invite the children to bring in their painted leaves for tomorrow’s class! We will create a beautiful display showcasing everyone's artwork, celebrating the colours of the cold weather season: 🍁🍂Rojo, Amarillo, Marrón, Naranja! 🍁🍂

Hi everyone! This year, a very brave and kind lady, Hilary, whom I have had the pleasure of working with, is doing something truly extraordinary. She is shaving her hair off to raise money for Forth One Mission Christmas 🎄💜 – what a heartfelt gesture!
