We are excited to announce that Little Beehive Roseangle have achieved Millie’s Mark.
Having the Millie’s Mark award demonstrates our commitment to going above and beyond the minimum requirements for keeping children safe. It shows that all our staff working directly with children not only hold a paediatric first aid certificate but are also competent in how to apply this in practice. Together we have reflected on our practice to ensure that there are tight processes and documentation in place and that staff are competent and confident to apply paediatric first aid in practice.
It is a process that has taken between three and six months and we have ensured that we worked as a team to fulfil the Millie’s Mark criteria and ensure that staff are able to keep children safe and minimise the risks and accidents.
Achieving Millie’s Mark shows we have the correct procedures and documentation in place and gives our parents that greater reassurance. Now that we have achieved Millie’s Mark we want to shout about our success. As well as offering a great reassurance to our existing parents, this is also a great marketing tool for new prospective families.

On Sunday, 24th May, we hosted our inaugural Sports Day, blessed with lovely weather. ☀️ It was a pleasure to see families engaging in the festivities. The event featured a range of activities, including beanbag balancing, sack races, egg and spoon races, and running competitions, all showcasing the children's enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
It was truly heart-warming to witness so many families competing together in sibling races and family races. At the end of each race, participants received a sticker. To conclude the day, we presented medals to all the children.🏆🏅

Today, we held our summer BBQ, and it was delightful to see so many people in attendance.
We welcomed both our existing families and new families who have signed up to join us.
Throughout the day, we enjoyed a engaging book bug session with Elaine, while Harry Mudini the magician put on a spectacular show. Niona also provided fantastic face painting for everyone. Daryl made sure we were all well-fed with his BBQ delights, and Teresa from our Montrose Nursery (Sweet Baking) treated us to some favourite cakes.
A great time was had by all.🥳

On Friday 15th May it was International Day of Families.
At Little Beehive Roseangle we wanted to celebrate International Day of Families with our children and families.
We understand the importance of connecting with our children and families and we strongly believe that fostering strong connections with children and their families can have significantly positive impact on a child’s wellbeing.
Through this day we took the opportunity to involve our families in our question of the month which was based on connections with our families.
We asked families to take a few minutes to enjoy some cake and answer the question. This helps our quality assurance for reflection and improvements.

Little Beehive Roseangle participated in fun activities to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday in the early years.🥳🎂💯
Sir David Frederick Attenborough is an English broadcaster, natural historian, conservationist, writer, producer and narrator.
The preschool children ventured outdoors to search for minibeasts, which was followed by a visit to the McManus Galleries to observe a variety of mini beasts on display. Upon returning to the nursery, they drew pictures of the minibeasts they had encountered. This activity sparked conversations, where staff and children discussed the importance of caring for the world, much like Sir David. The children supported one another by engaging in conversation and active listening. Additionally, they enjoyed watching short videos from his documentaries to gain a better understanding of his work.🦟
The babies and toddlers delighted in a nature walk where they searched for mini beasts and various animals. Upon returning to the nursery, they had the opportunity to read a book about mini beasts with Emily. This inspired the children to bring along soft toy animals.🐞🪲
