On Thursday morning we had some very exciting visitors. Gwen and Sara from Baldragon Bee Association kindly brought an observation bee hive for the children to see. They got see pictures of what a real hive looks like on the inside and learn about the different areas within the hive. The windows came off of the observation hive so that we could look inside. The bees were safely kept inside so that all of the children were safe but were still able to see them moving, working and hatching inside the hive. This was a brilliant learning experience that the children enjoyed and engaged well with
A massive thank you to Gwen and Sara for such a wonderful visit.

Teddy Bears Picnic Day.🧸
Today, we held our very own Teddy Bears Picnic. The whole nursery came together to have our picnic snack outside in the beautiful Dundee sunshine. We all had teddies to join us at the table.🧺☀️
Teddy Bear Picnic Day (celebrated annually on July 10th) is a fun holiday where families pack picnic baskets, grab their favorite stuffed animals, and head outdoors. The day is inspired by the classic children's song "The Teddy Bears' Picnic," which features the famous line: “If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise"

A little rain is nothing to fret about!☔️🌧️
At Little Beehive Roseangle, outdoor learning is integral to our enjoyment.
Regardless of whether it's sunny or rainy, we make sure to dress appropriately with gear such as wetsuits and wellies to fully embrace the outdoors. The Toddlers and Babies have been having a fantastic time exploring the water tray with various tools from the mud kitchen and indulging in imaginative role play.
Let's keep the fun going!🥰

In honour of the NHS 78th Birthday on Sunday 5th July.🌈🎂
The Pre-School children have created a hospital role play set up. The children have enjoyed caring for each other and the dolly's, creating a reception and their own signs to celebrate and say a big thank you. While taking part in role play the children discussed what the NHS is. This prompted the children to come up with their own emergencies, solutions and job roles within the hospital.

We are excited to announce that Little Beehive Roseangle have achieved Millie’s Mark.
Having the Millie’s Mark award demonstrates our commitment to going above and beyond the minimum requirements for keeping children safe. It shows that all our staff working directly with children not only hold a paediatric first aid certificate but are also competent in how to apply this in practice. Together we have reflected on our practice to ensure that there are tight processes and documentation in place and that staff are competent and confident to apply paediatric first aid in practice.
It is a process that has taken between three and six months and we have ensured that we worked as a team to fulfil the Millie’s Mark criteria and ensure that staff are able to keep children safe and minimise the risks and accidents.
Achieving Millie’s Mark shows we have the correct procedures and documentation in place and gives our parents that greater reassurance. Now that we have achieved Millie’s Mark we want to shout about our success. As well as offering a great reassurance to our existing parents, this is also a great marketing tool for new prospective families.

On Sunday, 24th May, we hosted our inaugural Sports Day, blessed with lovely weather. ☀️ It was a pleasure to see families engaging in the festivities. The event featured a range of activities, including beanbag balancing, sack races, egg and spoon races, and running competitions, all showcasing the children's enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
It was truly heart-warming to witness so many families competing together in sibling races and family races. At the end of each race, participants received a sticker. To conclude the day, we presented medals to all the children.🏆🏅

Today, we held our summer BBQ, and it was delightful to see so many people in attendance.
We welcomed both our existing families and new families who have signed up to join us.
Throughout the day, we enjoyed a engaging book bug session with Elaine, while Harry Mudini the magician put on a spectacular show. Niona also provided fantastic face painting for everyone. Daryl made sure we were all well-fed with his BBQ delights, and Teresa from our Montrose Nursery (Sweet Baking) treated us to some favourite cakes.
A great time was had by all.🥳
