Do you know someone deciding what they want to do after summer who might not be ready to go straight to university? Studying science at college could be a great option. πŸ§ͺ

πŸ“Ή In this video, our Project Officer, Jules, talks about the different pathways available through going to college, the support students receive and why science is more accessible than people often think.

With practical lab skills, smaller class sizes and access courses for adult returners as well as clear progression routes into university, college can be a great stepping stone into a future career in science. πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬

We’re delighted to see our partner, Life Sciences, University of Dundee, celebrating the fantastic achievement of Dr Amy Lloyd, who has been awarded Β£125,000 through the Academy of Medical Sciences Springboard programme to support groundbreaking Alzheimer’s research. πŸ‘

Amy, who also supports placements through the Science Futures project, plays an important role in helping students gain valuable hands-on experience within the life sciences sector.

This funding will support research exploring why women are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease, helping to improve understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and support future treatments.

Congratulations to Amy and the wider University of Dundee team on this incredible achievement.
