GWO Enhanced First Aid takes your first aid further, so you can handle serious medical emergencies in a wind turbine environment.

Over 3 days at our Dundee centre you'll cover:

CPR and defibrillator (AED) use
Severe bleeding, shock and burns

Great to attend the Forth and Tay Offshore event today at MSIP in Dundee.

It was fantastic to see offshore wind developers, industry leaders, educators, infrastructure partners and local businesses coming together to explore how Dundee will play a key role in supporting future offshore wind farm projects.

A big thank you also to our Training Manager, Steve Foley, who had the privilege of speaking at the event about coast training and safety, highlighting the importance of developing the skills needed to support the growing offshore wind industry.

We have a PPE Inspector Course running on the 5th of October, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The course includes both practical and written examinations. Those who successfully complete and pass both assessments will be deemed competent to inspect PPE within their own company.

Our rescue drill training is becoming increasingly popular, with more wind farms inviting us to visit their sites.

This is a real benefit and a worthwhile exercise for site teams, giving them the opportunity to practise their rescue procedures in a familiar environment. It is important that teams are trained at their own site, ensuring they are prepared for the specific challenges, equipment and conditions they may encounter.

The course covers advanced first aid skills for working in the wind industry, including:

Assessing and managing serious injuries and medical emergencies
CPR and AED use
Trauma management
Treatment of burns, bleeding and fractures
Managing illness and other workplace emergencies
Emergency response in challenging and remote environments

The session was tailored to their site and focused on real-life rescue scenarios, giving the team the opportunity to put their skills into practice and build confidence in an emergency situation.

Good teamwork, plenty of hands on training, and some valuable time spent preparing for the unexpected. 🦺
