Jack Simpson — what a journey! 🎸

“I honestly couldn’t be prouder of this lad.

I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Jack all the way from Grade 1 through to Grade 8, and watching him develop as a musician has been incredible.

He’s just achieved an amazing 97% Distinction at Grade 8 — an absolutely fantastic result and one that is so well deserved 👏🏻

But for me, it’s about much more than the grades. Jack has worked incredibly hard, always pushed himself and has grown into one hell of a bass player — and, more importantly, a great person ☺️

He came in to do work experience with me, and more recently his band played with my band UK Foo Fighters at The Foundry in Sheffield. Seeing someone I’ve taught from Grade 1 standing up there and doing that was a pretty special moment for me 🎶

Jack is moving on now and he’ll definitely be missed, but I’m genuinely so proud to have been part of his journey.

97% Distinction. Grade 8. What an achievement. 🔥

Thank you for all the hard work, Jack. Keep playing, keep pushing yourself and most importantly — keep enjoying music.
