Foundation Stage will be wearing these new bunny ears tomorrow and hopping and bopping to Easter music tomorrow to raise funds for Dove House Hospice, which as you know is very close to our hearts.

🐣 Friday 25th March - Non Uniform Day 🐣
The children can come in non uniform tomorrow with a donation of an Easter egg towards the Friends of Northfield Easter Egg-stravaganza. Thank you!

In support and recognition of World Down Syndrome Day it would be great to see everyone wearing a pair of odd socks tomorrow! 😃

Here’s a great app to help your child practise their maths skills. It links directly to the White Rose Maths scheme we use in school. It is free to download in the AppStore and GooglePlay.
Please ask your child to let us know how they are doing with it because we love to hear about their achievements! ✖️➗➕➖😃

Our fabulous Friends of Northfield will be holding an Easter Egg-stravaganza on 7th April and there will be an Easter Bonnet Parade on Friday 8th April. Bonnets will be made in school and we will send out info about when you can come and see the parade. 🐰🐣

Don’t forget to wear something red and bring a joke to tell the class tomorrow, Friday 18th March. Donations will be collected to support Comic Relief. Thank you 😁

Donations of toiletries, tinned and dried food, medical supplies, torches, sleeping bags, camping equipment and other items can still be brought to our office by next Tuesday (15th March).

Tomorrow, Monday 7th March, is our annual class photograph day. Please can all children come to school in uniform with their biggest smiles. Thank you 📸😃

Everyone looked amazing today. So much thought and effort went into all the children’s fabulous World Book Day costumes. It was a joy to hear them all talking about and sharing their favourite books too! Thank you for all your support which helped to give the children such a great day📚

Mrs Woolhouse is very excited to share a very special book with the children which will help them think about and consider some of the events we’ve lived through recently ☁️🌥🌈

We will be supporting the collection for Ukraine which is being run by Driffield and Wolds Weekly. More information will be sent out from school shortly about our collection days on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th March 💙💛

The Chain of Kindness grew and grew today as the children recognised acts of kindness throughout the day. They could feel the magic and that happy feeling kindness brings 🪄💚

We’re certainly feeling the magic today! The children are really recognising the feeling it gives them when they are kind to others. Huge smiles all round 😊 🪄

On this Random Acts of Kindness Day let’s celebrate all the kindness we show each other every day ☺️
We want our children to feel the joy it brings when they do or say something kind to someone else. How will you show kindness today?

Everyday we spend time checking in on our children and talking to them about their feelings and well-being. It’s also important that our little ones ‘big people’ are doing ok too. We’re always here and have lots of people you can talk to, so let us know if we can help in any way at all. 💚

Friends of Northfield make a huge difference for all our children. Please come along on Wednesday 9th February at 6pm in the school hall - thank you for your support 💚

💻SAFER INTERNET DAY💻
Today is Safer Internet Day. We will be talking to the children about how they can keep themselves safe whilst using the Internet. Look out for the information we will be sending out via email about how you can help at home.

It’s been a fabulous day in Foundation today. Hearing the children shouting “Mrs Woolhouse, I did it!” throughout the day was just lovely. The sense of achievement, independence and enthusiasm was a joy to see! 😊 💚

A huge thank you to the firefighters at Driffield Fire Station for giving our Year 2 children such a fabulous experience. We all loved it, especially getting to use the hose! 🚒🔥🔔
A massive well done to the children too, who were very well behaved, asked interesting questions and shared their knowledge of the Great Fire of London so well! 😃

🐅🏮Kung Hei Fat Choi 🏮🐅
The children will be doing all sorts of activities relating the Chinese New Year this week. We’ll keep you posted throughout the week!

Dragonflies had a great time at the fire station this morning. Something really important they learnt was to remind parents to test their smoke alarms. Let’s all join in with Test it Tuesday and keep everyone safe! 🚨🔔🔥🚒

Some amazing creations today made during our Lego day! We even learnt how to draw a Lego man!
We’re looking forward to seeing what you make this weekend using the challenges posted on Google Classroom! 🧱😃
