Creative activity is essential to human development, it develops memory, motor skills and communication even before speech and continues to give expression to everyone who takes part all of their lives. The arts bring richness to human lives and spaces, channel original ideas, and bring people together. Their contribution may be less obvious than sticks and shares (though the UK has a really successfully creative industries sector), but the Arts are essential all the same.

Sign our petition urging the UK Government to build a country where the arts are available from childhood, accessible to all and thriving everywhere.

This year is my biggest data collection year. I am really grateful to everyone who takes part as without you my research does not have the breadth of experience and opinions to make it worthwhile.

If you are morris dancer or musician I would be grateful if you could complete the Morris survey for your whole morris year as well as the surveys for the festivals you attended.

For festival attendees of all sorts including audience members, volunteers, dancers, musicians and singers and festival managers and staff, please select the festival(s) you attended.

Are you a member of a Morris side? I am researching the sustainability of seaside festivals, and as we all know Morris is a huge part of many festivals. Please fill in the Morris survey. If you did so last year, it would be great if you could take part again as year on year potential changes form part of the research.
