Netball Event π
Last Friday we took a team to represent the school in the annual netball tournament held at the Duke of York's School.
We played Temple Ewell in the first game, with our opponent winning 3-2. However after a lot of questions, you could tell the whole team now fully understood what their positions were! This showed with the team winning their next three group games 3-0,
2-1, 1-0 against the likes of St Mary's & Barton.
With 3 wins out of 4 games we were sure this was enough to finish in the top 2 and go through to the semi-finals. However, it ended up that two other schools finished on the same points, same points scored and same points conceded. You couldn't write it! We then had to settle this with a penalty shootout which we were so unfortunate to be on the losing side of. A cruel end, but that's sport!
To finish we played a friendly final with the 3rd place school in the other group, which we won 1-0. So, all in all, 4/5 wins for our netballers which included a 3-0 win against the eventual finalists.
Well done to all the team and thank you to the parents who came along to support ππ«Άπ

Puffin Class started their Beach themed topic off with exploring a paddle board - they worked as a team to pump it up before role playing paddling. They learnt all about wearing a life jacket to keep them safe in the water ππ

π’Sport Updates π’
A couple of weeks ago we took a selection of children from Years 4, 5 and 6 to represent the school in an indoor athletics event. The children absolutely loved bouncing from wall to wall as fast as they could, as well as doing some track events which involved some javelin, speed bounce and long jump to name a few. We collected a mixture of 1st 2nd & 3rd places throughout the day and everyone involved did amazing over the two days! πππ
We also took a mixture of Year 1 and Year 2 children to a football tournament last week. This was the first time these children have gone to a sports event with the school and was also the first time some of them have played in a team! Scores were not officially recorded but we scored 9 goals which were shared between Louie, Cooper, Ivor and Warren. Well done team! β½οΈππ

Early Years
We visited the Richmond site on Friday as part of our Geography learning to understand that different schools and local environments can be different from our own.
The Year 5 children did a fantastic job of showing us around and were even able to show us a maths lesson in progress!
The whole school then made us feel very welcome on the playground when we joined them for break time. Some of the children even got to have cuddles with their older siblings β€οΈπ«Άβ€οΈ
