In Science, Year One are learning all about the weather and the different seasons we experience in the UK. Today, we focused on clouds and used our scientific observation skills to look closely at what we could see in the sky. We noticed that clouds come in different shapes, sizes and colours, and we observed how they move across the sky. Next week we will be thinking carefully about rain and wind!
We also looked at a weather forecast and discovered that we are in for a lovely sunny weekend! ☀️

In RE, Year 1 have been learning about the different groups we belong to. We explored how we are all part of the wider Manor Park family, as well as our own Willow/Aspen Class family. We used string to connect ourselves together, helping us to see that although we are all individuals, we are also connected to one another. We then created our own jigsaw pieces, which we joined together to show that each person is an important part of our class and that, together, we make one whole.

We hope you have all had a lovely summer, spent with family and friends making memories.

We are very excited to be welcoming the children back to school tomorrow, as we start another year of learning, growing and making memories together. A special warm welcome to all our new families joining our school community this year. We are delighted to have you with us and hope you quickly feel part of our school family.

As we begin the year, we look forward to working closely with you to support your children to thrive, develop their confidence and enjoy their learning. There will be lots to look forward to, from exciting lessons and new experiences to special events, trips and opportunities to celebrate the wonderful things our children achieve.

Please remember to be on time (school starts at 8:45am) and attend every day so that your child can achieve their best.
