Dr Jamali can answer questions in different languages, and we're also able to support people in different languages.

What happens next?
The first step is simply booking an appointment. The Lung Health Check starts with a telephone appointment of around 20 minutes. If, following that assessment, you need further screening, you'll be referred.

Catching potential issues early makes a huge difference — in fact, 78% of lung cancers found through screening are caught at an early stage when they can be cured

Look out for our friendly team from This is Me Training (thisismetraining.co.uk) popping up at locations around Doncaster! We’re here to chat, answer questions, and help you book your free 20-minute phone check with an NHS Respiratory Nurse

Who is eligible?

Aged 55 to 74

Current smokers or past smokers

Registered with a GP in the Doncaster area

What happens during the check?

Quick Call: A simple 20-minute phone call to go over your lung health

Follow-up (if needed): Only those who need a further check will be offered a quick scan at a convenient local community location

Even if you quit smoking years ago or feel completely fine, taking 20 minutes for a call can save your life
