We are all so devastated to hear the wonderful Dolly Parton has died today.

We were privileged to perform 9 to 5 The Musical a few years ago and all fell in love with her and her music.

There'll never be another like her.

The elves are making the most of this lovely weather and enjoying themselves before the Christmas rush gets underway!

It won't be long before it's raining again and their holiday is over! The supermarkets are already selling advent calendars and selection boxes!

Not that they mind, they are Christmas elves so they are 'Happy All The Time!'

❤️❤️❤️ DOS Unsung Heroes Post! ❤️❤️❤️

This is the clever and creative Emma who you will probably never have seen at the theatre.

Emma is our head of props and she sources or makes all the props you'll see on stage. She is invariably given a long list of requirements by the show's production team and spends hours making or finding everything on it.

In recent shows she's provided rayguns, snails on skateboards, exploding projectors, wooden carts full of sunflowers, guitars - the list just goes on and on!

We're sure you'll agree Emma's fabulous props help to make our productions visually stunning. She can be found backstage at every DOS performance, manning the props table and helping with scene changes. Emma is also part of our hard working chaperone team, making sure our younger performers are looked after at the theatre.

And if all that's not enough, she's now part of the DOS Committee, taking the lead on publicity!

Thanks, Emma, for all you do for DOS! We are very grateful for all your time, talent and energy!

Here's a snippet of an Elf The Musical dance rehearsal!

Our brilliant Choreographer Jacqui has devised some amazing routines for this production! We have a hugely talented dance team which is working hard to master all the steps!

This extract is from a very funny scene where all the store Santas are compaining about the lack of respect they get from kids and parents in their grottos! It's hilarious!

Buddy the Elf is SO excited today!

Firstly, it's his second favourite date - the TwELFth!

(There are no prizes for knowing what his favourite day is!)

But, even more exciting, there's a solar eclipse tonight! Catch the spectacle just after 7pm, but don't look directly at the sun!

You can, of course, look directly at Elf The Musical though - and we thoroughly recommend that you do!

Look! It's Elf The Musical stars, Buddy and Jovie themselves, displaying our fabulous Elf poster!

They are played by the very talented Dan and Daisy who are both just fantastic in their roles! Pictured in his usual reclining pose is our brilliant director Ashley who has some truly magical ideas for this production! It will be visually spectacular - very different from any previous DOS show!

Happy Yorkshire Day!

If Buddy the Elf was English, he'd definitely be from Yorkshire! It would explain why he's 'Happy All The Time'. (Though you could probably make a case for his grumpy Dad, Walter, too! 😆)

Christmas comes a little early to Dinnington this year as we bring you the fantastic Elf The Musical!

Based on the hit film starring Will Ferrell it tells the story of Buddy the Elf who crawled into Santa's sack as a baby and was raised as an elf at the North Pole! He grows up to be the tallest, happiest elf ever. When he realises he's human he travels to New York to find his father. But his father is a hard-nosed businessman who thinks Christmas gets in the way of trade! How will he react to having an elf as a son?
