Well done to our hardworking Palmer Gardens work experience group who are busy working on a new planting project. Lots of hard work to complete first getting the ground ready before planting. We look forward to seeing the completed project later in the year 😀🌺🌸

Monday saw a group of BTEC Horticulture Students start work experience at Heal Rewilding in Somerset. The idea is to use the no dig method of growing plants.

Our first shift was to clear the ground ready to build the raised beds. The students will have the opportunity to plan out and create their own raised beds.

Well done everyone for working so hard.

Well done to Landbased maintenance student Max who has completed his first shift working with the Frome Rangers and volunteers to plant several large trees around Frome's Victoria Park.

Max used great communication skills in working with others using a post rammer to provide support for the new trees.

Max knew several of the Park Rangers and quickly felt at ease around the group of volunteers and staff.

Super first shift Max.

A big thank you to Jo from Wiltshire Museum for visiting us this morning and running some fossil related sessions with some of our skills for life students. We all had a great time learning about fossils and being creative. We even got to see some very old dinosaur poo 🦖🦕

Well done to Antonia who has started her work placement at Kelly’s Donkeys, who have been brilliant in having Fairfield students on work experiences for a number of years.

Antonia really enjoyed her first shift and was able to transfer her skills she has learnt at Fairfield Animal Park into looking after different animals at the donkey sanctuary.

'Toby' the donkey really enjoyed the attention of being groomed!

Great job Antonia.
