Kinda looks like a dancing routine doesn’t it?

These are some of the fun bodyweight moves that I am going to be including in the skool workouts. You will be able to follow along to each of the moves. Pause and rewind as much as you need to & also be able to see the commentary as all the videos will be subtitled.

Plus in addition to this there will also be an option for you to see the videos with the voiceover translated using BSL making all the training accessible even if you communicate mainly using BSL!

If you want to be one of the first access these workouts then follow me on these social channels to see when the launch of the first workout goes live!!

If you’re deaf and training at home — this one’s for you.

No counting out loud. No following someone else’s tempo. No relying on audio cues you can’t hear.

Your body gives you everything you need.

When the burn kicks in — that’s your signal.
When your breathing shifts — that’s your timer.

Bodyweight training works with how your body communicates, not against it.

It’s why I built my programmes the way I did — so the feedback comes from you, not at you.

If that’s the kind of training you’ve been looking for, follow and reach out. 👇

EPILEPSY ALERT!!

Yes heat can be a trigger for many people who have epilepsy, and it’s important to check in with those of your friends and family who might have it, however, it is not everyone who has epilepsy that is affected by it. People who have it often know their triggers so do check in with them, or stay aware of how you’re feeling if you have it.

The advice for training and exercise is the same as for those without epilepsy. Train in the coolest parts of the day. Early mornings & in the evenings and avoid being too active in the peak hours of the day if you can. This is advice that is the same for everyone regardless of any medical conditions.

It’s also worth thinking about doing bodyweight exercises while the weather is so hot as these movements can cause less strain on your system and keep you safe in the hot weather.

If you would like advice on how to program your training using your body weight then get in touch via DM.

Ultimately though look after yourself 🙏🤘

Programming that is specific and tailored to you rather than generic routines will hopefully really benefit people in the deaf community!

I am looking to make fitness accessible by demonstrating exercises that can be done and include subtitles (and also sign language on the Skool platform)

The addition of these two features will hopefully make exercise more accessible for people who are deaf (like me)

Comment “ROUTINE” if you want first hand access to the exercise routines on Skool!!

Let’s be real about epilepsy for a second

When a friend who had epilepsy cancels on you, it isn’t because they didn’t want to catch up with you- it’s likely that it’s because their battery really is running low. We have to be extra kind to ourselves and recognise that we don’t always have the energy to function at our best all the time.

This might be the affect of the drugs on our system or it could just be the extra fatigue we deal with due to our condition!

Please be kind. It’s not in our control when we become exhausted & it’s important that we rest otherwise our body may well force us to!

We love you, we just need to be able to stay healthy so we are able to do the things we can do!

I will be sharing some programs for bodyweight training soon so follow my account to keep up to date and get involved as soon as the programs go live!

Why I am only just starting to learn sign language

It might be something that seems obvious that I should do - but it really isn’t universal & having been brought up around hearing people (I didn’t know anyone who was deaf & could sign) I have only just started!

As I am deaf one of my missions in the business as a personal trainer now is to bridge the gap for fitness to be accessible for the deaf community. I will be learning more sign language to help communicate with clients!

For those of you who see this and are deaf too, do you sign & if so when did you start?

Most personal training advice assumes you can hear the coach.

Instructions shouted across the gym.

Fast explanations.

“Just listen to the cues.”

If you’re deaf or hard of hearing, that system doesn’t work very well.

You end up trying to lip-read while exercising and hoping you didn’t miss something important.

But accessible personal training is actually much simpler than people think.

In this blog I explain the few things that make coaching genuinely accessible for deaf and hard-of-hearing people — and why most fitness advice misses them.

As someone who is deaf myself, this is something I’ve had to figure out the hard way.

How long after a seizure can you exercise safely?

This is one of the most common questions people with epilepsy ask when they want to stay active.
And the frustrating part is that most of the advice online is either vague or overly medical… which doesn’t really help when you’re trying to figure out what’s safe for your body.

The truth is there isn’t one rule that applies to everyone.

But there is a smarter way to return to training that protects your recovery and helps you rebuild confidence in your body.
In this article I explain:

• why recovery after a seizure matters
• the mistake many people make when returning to exercise
• how bodyweight training can help you build back up safely
If you live with epilepsy and want to stay active, this will help you approach training with a bit more clarity.
