Katy and I recently had a chat with a local organisation about using their space, as we’re looking at running a basic car‑maintenance course. The idea is to cover the everyday essentials, routine checks for MOTs, changing bulbs and wiper blades, basic service items, tyres, and simple troubleshooting.

Going into winter, we completely understand that not everyone wants to be stood outside looking around cars in the cold. So we’d love to know two things:

1. Would there be interest in a course like this?

2. Does anyone know of suitable venues?

Ideally somewhere with a sheltered area where we could fit a car indoors or under cover. If we’re outdoors, we’d likely only run sessions in the milder months, which means hiring a private car park or a venue with access to a private vehicle space.

If you have any recommendations of places we could look into we’d really appreciate it. We’re keen to get planning and see what’s possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s booked onto our end‑of‑month course, we’re officially sold out.
You can still join on the waitlist in case any last‑minute spots pop up.
We’re busy behind the scenes sorting props, prepping materials, and putting together our little goodie bags for attendees.

We're also looking at booking the next lot of dates and plan to use other venues across Oxfordshire but this might not be till the New Year now as a lot of the venues are already booked up over November and December but we'll update this page as and when we have new dates.

Looking forward to seeing those coming in October.

After a little summer break to enjoy the sunshine and crack on with some Handy Women projects, our next DIY Basics workshop is officially booked in.

We’re still hunting for more venues, so if you have any recommendations, we’d love to hear them as they seem to be getting booked up quickly during autumn and winter.

We’re looking at running our DIY courses again in October. We’ll likely look at another Didcot venue, but if there’s enough interest in another area, we’re happy to look at alternative locations too.

If there’s something specific you’d like to learn, anything in the realm of DIY basics or home maintenance, let us know and we’ll see if we can build it into the session.

Better late than never!

It’s been just over a week since our very first workshop, and we are finally catching our breath! (Sorry for the delay with the photos, we’ve been busy celebrating birthdays and soaking up that sunshine)
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope you liked the course and had fun playing with all the power tools.

Next up: we’re heading off on a short holiday to recharge our batteries, and then it’s straight into prep mode for the next workshop on June 20th.
