And that's a wrap on preschool for 2025.

We have had a fantastic year, made some lovely new friends and sadly said goodbye to some old ones as they have left us for the next chapters in their learning journeys.

Today we celebrated with our end of term christmas party, the children have enjoyed making reindeer food ready for christmas eve, done lots of dancing and party games and finished off with a delicious christmas dinner with a very special guest. πŸŽ…πŸŒ²

We hope you all love the christmas packs your child has brought home today we have loved making and creating them across the last few weeks and sure you will be as proud of them all as we are.

See you all again on the 5th of January, we hope you have a fantastic christmas and new year, stay n play x

Here is a sample of the different areas of play avaliable to the children in preschool. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, interested and engaged in the activities and environment around them and when they have secure attachments and relationships.

We have a highly skilled staff team who get to know your child inside out and work alongside you as parents to ensure they get the maximum learning and developmental experience from preschool all whilst having lots of fun and making lots of friends.

We work really hard through our curriculum to give your children the foundation skills and knowledge to best equip them to continue their learning journey and continue growing as confident, happy, independent and resilent little people!

Can you guess where we went on friday?

Following some of the children getting very interested in the bear hunt story we decided to recreate this outside for them, walking bare foot over the textures of long wavy grass deep cold rivers squelchy squercy mud into the deep dark foods, discovering a bear and quickly running back home!

We have been very impressed with how well the children joined in with this recalling the story, reciting the words and beginning to use some lovely descriptive words to talk about the things they were feeling under foot

A couple of weeks ago, as part of our world book day activities, we planted our very own beanstalks in the window and just looked at how much they are growing ❀️🌱

With spring and the nicer weather in touching distance, this has sparked some interest in how things grow, we are hoping to build on this by getting the children out and about in the allotment and growing some fruits and vegetables of their own! Keep tuned to this space to see how we get on!

We are feeling the love ❀️ this morning in preschool! We have given our continuous provision a little bit of a valentines enhancement with hearts, glitters and red/pink shades to the blocks and water.πŸ§±πŸ’¦πŸ’œ

We have then been exploring a variety of different textures in the tuff tray hearts, getting creative and mark making creating our own valentines day cards and talking about the special people who will be receiving them! πŸ’œβ€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’š

Some of the children have then taken part in some valentines games matching numbers and the corresponding dots with our cupcakes and matching the pictures in a game of snap and match. Others have matched the shapes to the outlines, all of us have had a lot of fun! πŸ§πŸƒ

Finally we have chatted about the things we love with lots of lovely things shared from grandparents to unicorns and everything in-between!πŸ‘΅πŸ¦„πŸ₯°

This morning, the children all came in very excited after last night's snowfall πŸŒ¨β„οΈ.

We have used this interest to help their learning, spending some time outside, feeling the snow and talking about texture and temperature as well as running around and having a lot of fun playing with staff and our friends. We have also enjoyed making our own playdough snowmen and exploring our very own snowy tuff tray. We have also been observing as the snow is slowly melting away out of the window from the nice warm inside!

You should all now have your own individual snowy fun photos available in the class dojo app to see the fun your child has been having, hopefully they will all tell you about it as well when they return home!

A fantastic example of how child led learning works.
We have noticed that despite the weather the children are really interested in ice creams, creating them from loose parts and in the home corner. Therefore staff have been busy creating them a ice cream shop for them to explore and develop their learning on this interests.

Through their play the children can gain the following skills

Personal, social and emotional- playing with the other children, taking turns and sharing the resources, working together to create play and narratives.

Communication and language - talking to each other and adults, discussing what they are doing and creating and creating vocab and narrative ro their play.

Mathematics - recognising colours, shapes and sizes and using mathematical language for sizes as well as some counting, number recognition and monetary values.

Imaginative play - building up imagination, role play and creations.

Physical skills - using fine motor skills to pick up and create their own ice creams.

And so much more within the moment as staff observe and support them and extend learning and development based on the things they say and do!
