🌟 Welcome back! 🌟

It has been so lovely to welcome all of our children back into each of our schools today as we begin a brand-new academic year!

The schools have been full of happy faces, excitement and enthusiasm, and it has been wonderful to see everyone settling back into school life.

A very special welcome to our new Reception children across the fedration, who have made such a fantastic start! We are so pleased to have you as part of our School family and look forward to watching you learn, grow and flourish with us.

🎉 That's a wrap on another fantastic school year! 🎉

As we reach the end of the academic year, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made this year so special across the South Hams Federation.

To our incredible children – thank you for your enthusiasm, resilience, kindness and determination. You have worked hard, embraced new challenges and made us proud every single day.

To our dedicated staff – thank you for your commitment, care and passion. Your hard work and support have created wonderful opportunities for our children to learn, grow and thrive.

To our parents, carers and wider community – thank you for your continued encouragement, generosity and partnership. Your support makes a real difference, and we are so grateful to have such strong school communities.

A special good luck to our Year 6 pupils as they move on to the next stage of their education. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success and happiness in your new schools.

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer break, filled with fun, adventure and time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning.

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, mateys! 🏴‍☠️

Reception had a swashbuckling Pirate Day at Malborough Primary, packed full of adventure, imagination and fun!

Our little pirates looked fantastic in their costumes and enjoyed a day of exciting activities, including pirate games, treasure hunts, creative crafts and storytelling. There were smiles, laughter and plenty of "Arrrs!" as the children worked together to search for hidden treasure and set sail on their learning adventures.

It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork throughout the day. Well done to all of our amazing pirates, and thank you to our families for helping the children look the part!

🚨 So, what do the Coastguards do? 🚨

Our children at Stokenham Primary School had a fantastic morning discovering what it takes to be a Coastguard!

They had the chance to try on some of the uniform, carry the equipment bags (which they quickly discovered are very heavy!), practise throwing rescue lines, help set up and use the hoist, and even experience just how loud the sirens are! 🚑🌊

It was a brilliant hands-on experience, and the children loved learning about the important role Coastguards play in keeping people safe.

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers who gave up their time to visit us this morning. Your enthusiasm and knowledge made it a memorable experience for everyone!

🌍 Class 3 from Modbury Primary School enjoyed a fantastic trip around Modbury as part of our Geography learning!

We explored the human and physical features of our local area, helping us build our understanding of place and prepare for comparing Modbury with a region in the French Alps and a coastal area in Italy.

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn outside the classroom and see Geography come to life! 🗺️✨

📚✨ Reception Enjoys a Reading Roundabout! ✨📚

Reception class at Modbury Primary School recently had a wonderful time taking part in a Reading Roundabout led by the Devon Library Service.

The children explored a fantastic variety of books from different genres, sharing their thoughts and discussing which stories and books they enjoyed the most. It was a great opportunity to discover new favourites and develop a love of reading. 📖❤️

We are delighted that many of the children's favourite books are now available in our class reading area for everyone to enjoy and share together.

A big thank you to the Devon Library Service for inspiring our young readers! 🌟

The Reception crew at Stokenham had a swashbuckling Pirate Day full of fun and adventure. The young pirates were intrigued to find mysterious clues leading to the perfect ‘treasure’ for this heat…a freezer decorated as a treasure chest filled with cooling ice pops! The children also enjoyed testing out their brilliant boats to see if they floated, sharing a delicious pirate-themed feast and having a cooling pirate pamper session with cold footbaths and soothing cucumber. A huge thank you
