Derby SEND Voice warmly invites you to our FREE Spring Family SEND Event at the beautiful Museum of Making, March 8th, 10am–3pm.

Join us for a relaxed and inclusive gathering, and meet a wide range of SEND services and organisations from in and around Derby City, aimed at children and young people aged 0-25 and their families.

Come and discover what Derby has to offer, gain helpful information, find support, access useful resources, and connect with people who will genuinely listen and understand.

You will also have the opportunity to meet the Derby SEND Voice team and get a feel for who we are, what we do, and how we stand alongside families throughout the year.

We now have confirmed SENDIASS Derby SEND Information Advice and Support Service, Family Hubs, HAF, First Look SEN, Autism Derby by Julie Fearn, The Derby City Local Offer, T2, SEN-Fit cic, Hubbub Theatre Company, Dreams and Wonders Wellness Centre, Aquathlete Ltd, Derby SEND Advisory Line (SAL), Amy Flo face painting, Safe and Sound Group, Listening books, DS Creations. AND we have even more still to come - watch this space!

✨ A Calm Start at the Museum of Making ✨
The wonderful Museum of Making are hosting a SEND‑friendly quiet session this February Half‑Term, designed especially for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Expect a relaxed, sensory-considerate start to the day, including:
• Fewer visitors for a calmer space
• Visual supports and clear signage
• Designated quiet areas
• Fidget resources available

(The museum opens to the public at 11:30am; River Kitchen open from 10am)

We had fun in the Snow!

We had a lot of fun at our Christmas Party.....magic, dancing and games with Loopy Lou!

Our children have taken part in a very exciting forest school session! They used sticks, clips and cloth to create dens or nest for different kinds of woodland animals. One child said "look, i am putting the sticks together for the squirrel". The children were also introduced to a hand drill, which they have begun learning to use!

In Woodlands we have been learning about taking care of our teeth. From talking about how to brush our teeth, having a go at cleaning the giant teeth, reading about going to the dentist and talking about what foods and drinks are good for our teeth.
