It’s totally OK to change a painting part way through. It’s part of the process, not a fail as it can sometimes ‘feel’. In order to create the right painting it takes thought, time, and change is likely required and sometimes quite dramatic changes. I also love that a painting has a story that often only the artist knows. This painting has also been a vase of flowers and looking at the end result you’d never know, so sometimes I just reuse canvas completely. I don’t have endless canvases to use and store, so it makes sense to give it a new lease of life. Bringing something new out of something old- such joy. Will I re-paint this painting? I’ll work in to it but no, I won’t paint over it. I know this is the right path for this canvas

Love painting my kids! I love taking a moment in time and expressing it in paint. A lasting memory, for the whole family.
“It’s more special than a photo because Mummy takes ages on it and it’s classic. A photo captures the image but the painting captures more” J aged 10
