💙 As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, I would like to thank our incredible staff team for their dedication, care and hard work. Every day, they help make Horsley
and Mapperley such loving, nurturing and fun places to learn and work.

On behalf of all the staff, thank you to our families for your kind words, cards and gifts. Most of all, thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us- we are so proud of every one of them.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. Together, we make our school community so special.

Wishing you all a happy, safe and restful summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 7th September and to another fantastic year ahead.

What a fantastic journey it has been! You leave us as kind, confident, resilient and ambitious young people, and we are so proud of all that you have achieved during your time with us.

As you begin your next adventure at secondary school, carry with you the friendships, memories and lessons you've made along the way. Believe in yourselves, embrace new opportunities and continue to be the amazing Horsley Heroes we know and love. 🌟

Although we will miss your smiles, laughter and energy around school, we know that exciting opportunities and great successes await you.

It is time.

Time for one last wear of this uniform.
Time for one last journey to school.
Time for one last registration.
Time for one last assembly.
Time for one last wander in the corridors.
Time for one last day, everyone together.
Time for one last goodbye to your teacher.

And for parents...

Walk with your child one last time this week. Even if they tell you they don't need you to. Talk about the sticks they collected, the paintings they carried so carefully, the sports days, the nativities, the trips, the friendships and the memories made along the way.

Remember how small that hand felt on the very first day. Hold it again as you make this final journey together.

Tell them how proud you are. Tell them how excited you are for everything that lies ahead.

Because now...

It is time to move on.
Time for the next step.
Time for new adventures.
Time to look forward and not back.

To our Year 6 children: be brave, be kind, be curious and be yourself. You leave us with wonderful memories and endless pride.

You are ready.

And to the parents and families who have walked beside them every step of the way- you've done a great job.
