🌿🐒 Our little explorers went on a jungle adventure today inspired by our core story book! 📚✨

The children enjoyed reading the story together before bringing it to life by creating their very own jungle using natural resources and mud. 🌱🪵🐾

As we explored the story, the children confidently used animal sounds and matched the animals to the characters in the book, developing their communication, listening, and recognition skills through play. 🦁🐍🐘

What a wonderful hands-on learning experience filled with imagination, creativity, and lots of jungle fun! 🌴💚

💐✨ Today we celebrated a very special milestone for our wonderful company administrator, Sue, who marked her first year with The Early Years Community 💚🎉

Sue supports all 4 of our nurseries and plays such an important role behind the scenes 🌟 From helping families with funding and invoicing queries 💻📋, supporting parents and staff with the Famly App 📱, to keeping so many day-to-day tasks organised, Sue is always there to help with patience, kindness and a smile 😊

Today, some of the children from our Sunnyhill Toddler Room were very excited to present Sue with flowers 💐 to say a huge “thank you” for everything she does 🥰

Your hard work, care and commitment across the group really does make such a difference to our families and teams every single day 💚✨

Messy play magic ✨

Today’s toddler activity started simple… a tray of flour and some toy cars 🚗
Little hands explored making marks, noticing patterns, and experimenting with movement as the cars rolled through the soft flour.

Before long, curiosity took over…
“Cars are dirty now!”

So we naturally moved into a car wash 🫧💦
Warm soapy water, sponges, and lots of scrubbing—developing fine motor skills, imagination, and real-life connections through play.

From mark making ➡️ to meaningful play ➡️ to practical life skills

Just following their lead 💛

Today our toddlers had a wild and wonderful time getting creative! 🌿🐾

Inspired by our core book Walking Through the Jungle, the children explored jungle-themed colours and used their hands to create beautiful handprint art. From bright oranges to deep jungle browns, they loved getting messy and expressing themselves through paint!

This activity supported their sensory development, creativity, and connection to the story. We talked about the animals we might find in the jungle and the different colours we can see all around us.

🍌🍍🍊 Handa’s Surprise Fruit Fun! 🍉🍎🍇

Today at nursery, we brought the story Handa’s Surprise to life with a delicious and creative activity! The children explored a variety of fruits just like Handa, tasting each one and sharing their thoughts – from sweet bananas to juicy oranges and tangy pineapples! 😋

After our tasting session, the children used the fruits as inspiration to create their own beautiful paintings. Using brushes, they carefully mixed colours and painted their interpretations of the different fruits, showing fantastic creativity and imagination. 🎨

It was a wonderful way to encourage curiosity, develop sensory awareness, and build confidence in their artistic skills – all while enjoying a healthy treat!

Our preschool children have been busy exploring their emotions in a fun and creative way! 🎨💛

Using The Colour Monster as inspiration, the children learned about different feelings and what they look like. They then used a variety of materials to design and create their very own emotion monsters—each one unique and full of personality!

Through this activity, the children developed a better understanding of their emotions while expressing themselves through art and creativity. We loved seeing their imagination come to life! 🌈✨

Little hands, big discoveries 🥕🌽🍅

Today our preschool explorers got stuck into learning all about vegetables—where they come from, how they grow, and why they help keep our bodies strong and healthy. From farm to table, the children loved sharing what they already knew and discovering something new!

With careful guidance, they used child-friendly knives to safely chop and prepare their own veggies, building confidence, independence, and important life skills along the way. 💚

Our preschool children are taking part in Early Talk Boost, a fun and engaging programme designed to develop speaking and listening skills. 🧩✨
