From Macbeth and A Christmas Carol at GCSE to Frankenstein, The Great Gatsby, A Streetcar Named Desire and The Duchess of Malfi at A Level - lots of very different texts, themes and conversations!

One of my favourite parts of tutoring is getting to teach such a wide range of literature across different students and courses.

GCSE mocks coming up? 📚

I’m running a small number of GCSE Exam Coaching sessions this autumn, designed to give students supported exam practice before their mocks.

Students will tackle an unseen exam question, working through the planning, annotation and writing process with live feedback and modelling from an experienced English teacher and examiner.

The aim is to build confidence, identify exactly where marks are being lost and give students strategies they can take into their next exam.

GCSE English Exam Coaching - Autumn Term 🍂

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1st

I’m opening a small number of £25 one-hour exam coaching sessions this autumn for AQA GCSE English students.

These are practical, focused sessions designed to help students feel more confident tackling exam questions independently - particularly useful for mock preparation.

Students will work through an exam-style question during the session, while I:
✨ guide them through planning and structuring their response
✨ give feedback as they write
✨ model and improve sections with them on the document
✨ show them exactly what they can do to move their response forward

Sessions available for:
Creative Writing | Persuasive Writing | English Literature (any text)

Perfect for students who understand the content but struggle to turn their ideas into a strong exam response.

GCSE English mocks coming up? ✍️

My Exam Coaching sessions are designed to build confidence and prepare students for tackling exam questions independently.

In each one-hour session, students will tackle an exam-style question while I work alongside them - giving live feedback, helping them develop their ideas and modelling directly on their document as they write.

Rather than simply being told how to answer a question, they’ll actually practise doing it with expert support there when they need it.

Perfect for mock preparation, building exam confidence and improving technique.

This autumn I’m running a series of 4-week AQA GCSE English Literature Exam Coaching courses, designed specifically for students who have already covered the text at school or through home education.

Rather than reteaching the plot and characters, we’ll focus on how to approach the exam and maximise marks.

Across the four weeks:

Week 1 - Exam Technique
Understanding the question, assessment objectives and what examiners are looking for.

Week 2 - Analysing Model Responses
Breaking down strong answers and identifying exactly what makes them successful.

Week 3 - Planning & Exam Practice
Planning effectively and applying techniques to AQA-style exam questions.

Week 4 - Exam Coaching
Students complete a timed essay, followed by individual feedback and guidance on exactly what to work on next.
