⚠️ROCKFIT FAQ's:
Q: What is R
ockFit? A: Only the UK's biggest Rock and Metal dance fitness brand. There is dancing, squatting, punching, innuendo and great music. A 60 minute class involving cardio and body sculpting moves to give you a work out as you rock out 🤘🏻
Q: Is it all cheesy fitness covers of rock songs? And we cater for a wide range of tastes. Playlists have included AC/DC, Architects, The Darkness, Electric Callboy, Ghost, Foo Fighters, Five Finger Death Punch, Limp Bizkit, Queen, Rammstein, Skindred, Fall out boy, My Chemical Romance, Korn, plenty of upcoming artists... and so so many more. (Given the nature of the music, this does mean there is swearing and adult themes fairly frequently). We have loads available and if you tell me what you're into, I can try and make it happen! 🎶
Q: What do I need? A: Comfortable shoes and a bottle of water (or other appropriate hydration drink). No equipment needed, wear whatever you're comfortable moving and possibly sweating in. Whip on your favourite band tee or go full 80s with a leotard and leg warmers. As long as you don't get arrested for public indecency on the way to class, it should be okay 👟
Q: What if I can't dance/am not fit/have an injury or condition/etc? A: RockFit is for everybody and every body. There are a few medical conditions that would require consultation with a a health care professional but in most cases; we can adapt the class to suit your needs and abilities. If you can't dance or don't feel like you're fit; don't worry! We all start somewhere! Everyone thinks they have a lack of coordination when they first join, but they have great fun and soon pick up the moves. Joining RockFit means joining an amazing community of positive and inspiring people. There are plenty of options, even if it means sitting down and waving your arms about 🙌🏻
Q: How much is it going to cost me and how do I book? A: Your first class is free, so you're literally only gambling with an hour of your time if you come along and try it out! Regular price is then £5 per class or you can buy a 5-class-pass for £20 saving you £5 (6 months expiry). Cash is preferred, or you can pay by bank transfer. Booking isn't usually necessary, but I ask that you indicate that you're attending on the 'events' posted on this group. Q: Where can I find your classes? A: Chellaston academy in the Dance studio on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Hilton Scout Hut on Fridays at 6pm. I also run occasional Saturday morning classes at Hilton village hall - look out for details of these in my group. All venues have lots of free parking outside
Q: Who are you anyway? A: Hi, I'm Sharon. I found Rockfit online during lockdown and from a mental health perspective the classes really kept me going (as well as keeping me physically active). When the world came back out to play I looked for classes in my local area and discovered that the closest ones were in Nottingham. Classes like this are so much more fun with other people, so I enrolled on a Level 2 Exercise to Music course, passed that and my RockFit brand specific training to be able to teach classes. If you told the people I went to school with that I'm now a fitness instructor they'd probably wet themselves laughing - I was the original 'PE dodger' and definitely know what it feels like to walk into a class and have people look down their nose at you - that won't happen at a Rockfit class! My motivation is to share something I love with other people (and have other people to dance with so I don't have to do it alone in my living room anymore!!). I
've been into Rock & Metal since my teens and frequented both the Rockhouse and Rock City in the 90's and 00's. I still love going to gigs and festivals, including Download (where you can also find Rockfit classes). Hopefully that's everything, but if you need more info, just holler 💜
2 years already! Sounds like a good excuse for a 2hr class 🤘

Help get Skindred to number 1. Only a few hours left!
Hey Swaddies as you know we love a bit of Skindred , they are currently in a battle for the no1 album against a load of major label pop acts, we’d love to see them get a win for the rock community, and they’re selling their album for just £5 , go give them a hand!”
