We’re going on a bear hunt... we’re going to catch a big one! 🐻✨

Look out, adventures are happening at our Bedford Street nursery! A huge well done to our brilliant apprentice, Lexxi, for creating this magical, sensory-filled We’re Going on a Bear Hunt experience for our little explorers, all from her own initiative!

From swishy-swashy long wavy grass to squelch-squelch through the thick oozy mud, our children loved stepping right into the story!

Sensory and messy play is such a fantastic way to bring books to life, building early storytelling skills, language, and pure giggles along the way.

Well done Lexxi! ✨

Buon Giorno from Mickleover nursery! ☀️🇮🇹

Yesterday was Italy Day at Mickleover nursery, and our little explorers had an absolute blast! From diving into some wonderfully gooey spaghetti messy play and crafting our very own mini Trevi Fountains with our block play to making pizzas, tasting Italian treats, and discovering all about Italian culture, it was a day packed with learning and lots of smiles!

Swipe to see some highlights of our little artists and chefs in action! 📸✨

✨👏 A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our Macmillan coffee mornings last week! 👏✨

To put it into perspective;

- £500 could pay for a Macmillan Professional to attend an advanced course in pain and symptom control. This would help the professional provide better advice to people with cancer on symptom management and dealing with the pain caused by treatment.
- £325 could cover the costs of room hire for a year and refreshments for a cancer support group to provide peer-to-peer support within a community setting rather than at a hospital, helping reduce travel costs for people with cancer in the local area.
- £294 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 day, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical, and emotional support.

We're extremely proud to be contributing to such a worthwhile cause and making a difference for those who need it. ✨

All was quiet in the deep dark wood…🌳📖

What an unforgettable time celebrating the magic of reading with our little ones. We transformed our nursery into a world of imagination, diving deep into our favourite tales and bringing them to life in the most delicious ways.

Our little learners had an absolute blast getting creative in the kitchen to decorate colourful, patchwork Elmer biscuits, and explored vibrant storytelling over themed lunches featuring a Hungry Caterpillar fruit platter and a hearty Gruffalo crumble (thankfully, no sharp claws or terrible tusks in sight!).

But the absolute pinnacle of the week? Cozying up together in our brand-new reading nook for a very special, highly anticipated shared reading session of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s brand-new masterpiece, Gruffalo Granny!

Seeing their wide-eyed wonder as we turned the pages of this brand-new woodland adventure in our new cozy space was a moment we’ll treasure.

Here’s to raising a generation of lifelong book lovers! 🐘🐛🍪✨

Bringing books to life, one mashed pea at a time! 🥔📚

Our Heanor team recently turned storytime into a full hands-on adventure. By crafting custom Supertatos and re-enacting the tale with real props, our children built key storytelling, fine motor, and creative play skills while keeping the Evil Peas at bay. 🌟

We're going on a bear hunt... and we're not scared! Our Mickleover adventurers brought the classic storybook to life with an incredible step-by-step sensory walk. The children bravely marched through squelchy mud, splashed across cool water, and stomped through bright green spaghetti "grass" as they navigated every element of the tale. Hands-on storytelling at its absolute best! 🐻🌾🐾

From the home corner to the dinner plate! Our Heanor chefs took play to the next level after serving up pretend pizzas during pretend play. We brought the activity to life by rolling up our sleeves and crafting our very own real pizzas for tea! The children loved spreading the sauce, picking their favourite toppings, and getting hands-on with every delicious step before diving into their freshly baked creations. 🍕✨👩‍🍳

🦖 Our little paleontologists took on the ultimate dinosaur swamp challenge, taking turns exploring a watery splash zone up top and a gloriously gooey, slimy swamp down below.
