Noel-Baker Academy

From September, Noel-Baker Academy will be introducing Yondr phone pouches as part of our commitment to creating a calm, focused learning environment.

The pouches allow students to keep their phones with them during the school day, but securely locked away until the end of the day. Students will still have their phone with them, but it won't be a distraction during lessons or social times.

We've made this decision to help create an environment where students can:

📚 Focus on learning without the distraction of mobile phones.
🤝 Spend more time talking and connecting with friends.
💙 Enjoy a calmer school day with less pressure from notifications and social media.

We know that many parents and carers will have questions about how this will work in practice, and that's completely understandable.

A huge congratulations to Connor O, whose dedication and love for football continue to inspire everyone around him!

Connor has been playing football since he was just four years old and has shown incredible commitment by staying with the same team throughout his journey.

Last season, the team moved to Borrowash and now proudly competes in Division One—and what a season it's been! Connor has been recognised with the Manager's Player of the Season Award, a fantastic achievement that reflects his hard work, determination and positive attitude.

But Connor's football journey doesn't stop there. For his birthday last year, he chose to complete his football referee course—a testament to his commitment to the game both on and off the pitch. After starting the course in January, he quickly completed his required matches and, most Sundays, plays for his own team before heading straight to the Racecourse to referee several more games.

In May, Connor officially became a qualified referee and was selected as a match official for two cup finals in Mickleover—an incredible accomplishment for such a young official.

Football is such a huge part of Connor's life, and his enthusiasm, sportsmanship and dedication are truly something to celebrate.

An amazing achievement and a fantastic example of commitment, hard work and sportsmanship. Well done, Connor— All of us at NBA can't wait to see what you achieve next! ⚽👏🏆
