Happiness isn't some distant destination you finally arrive at, it's something you cultivate from within, even while the world pushes back. The deepest peace comes from learning to carry a steady flame inside yourself that isn't completely extinguished by bad days, setbacks, or circumstances outside your control. It's the ability to find small pockets of meaning, beauty, and gratitude right where you are.

But let's be real — environment, surroundings, people, and opportunities matter too. Some places and situations drain your spirit far more than others. Pretending everything is 100% mindset can feel invalidating when you're fighting uphill. The truth is, real happiness often lives at the intersection, internal strength meeting better external conditions.

So while I work on that inner foundation, I'm building the bridge. I'm treating the change I need as a real project—breaking it down into steps, gaining skills, saving what I can, and laying bricks where possible. At the same time, I find it a real struggle to live in this limbo, knowing where my happiness truly is while still being stuck here trying to reach it.

Internal work is my armor, not a complete cure. Meditation, reflection, exercise, boundaries, and mindset shifts help me endure the wait without completely breaking. They stop the spiral while I grind on the bridge. But they don't replace taking action toward the places and life that naturally light me up.

Happiness within makes the journey bearable. Building the bridge gives me direction and hope. I need both. The system can be cruel and slow, but many have crossed much wider rivers. I'm laying my bricks even through the hard days, my future self will thank me for it.
